You have summed up the situation, and MM, perfectly.
He has a track record of misleading the press and the city. (Implying he’ll take private, actually promising to give up the gs, etc.).
Our only hope is that one of these activist investors, or someone else, bids, because they feel that they would be able to add value with new management.
Lord Allen has done nothing since his appointment. And certainly hasn’t put a stop to MM’s shenanigans.

My sources tell me that the reason THG was so weak on yesterday's open (not withstanding the whole market was weak) despite positive Sunday Times article is because there was a spread betting firm that was forced to liquidate 5m THG for clients that couldn't meet their increased margin positions elsewhere.

Thanks Pearls. The split (SOP) valuation is nothing new. I'd be surprised if that is all it is.

I have refrained from posting recently. Although I still hold.
I have been disappointed from past sp rallies only to see them fade away.
But shares don’t move like this, with buyers, unless either something is imminent, or city pr has suddenly improved radically. I suspect the former!!!

Liberum: quality of THG’s platforms justifies investor attention

Liberum believes it is right that investor interest is building in THG (THG), given the quality of the e-commerce platform.

Analyst Wayne Brown retained his ‘hold’ recommendation and target price of 55p on the stock, which eased 1.9%, or 1.1p, to 59p yesterday.

‘THG shares continue to attract investor interest, and rightly so given the quality of the underlying businesses,’ he said.

‘We think free cashflow generation remains central to driving the shares from here on. Even at target margins, THG would generate low free cashflow yields on the current share price.’

Brown maintained that 2023 trading would be ‘tough’ but ‘profits recovery and Ingenuity wins could reignite interest.’

He added that plans to separate parts of the business mean ‘material upside to the current valuation exists’.

We all said it was inevitable that it was going private because MM said as much, in the GQ interview. We all, stupidly, took him at his word. We didn’t know at the time that he’s not exactly 100pct honest.

Ian mcD made the “bid” in order to flush out a real bidder at the bequest of MM. That is why he still has a seat on the board. This is now ancient history. It didn’t work. It’s time we all moved on!

Goldie. The 2 bids were intended to flush out one or more “real” bidders. That is why Iain McD is still on the board. It is irrelevant whether it was hostile or not. It was never going to happen. The market was awash with bid activity at the time. Alas, for whatever reason, it didn’t work!!!

No one’s “attacking” the share price. It’s probably disgruntled shareholders exiting. Who can blame them?

MM would probably have accepted £1.70, if it had been genuine!
