As I said yesterday (everyone else likes repeating themselves), Apollo should sit on the bid and spend the next few months building a stake of 4.99%, undeclared. Do it slowly and stealthily without moving the price, Then on the day of the GS expiry, launch a full hostile bid for the company. Having bought a chunk extremely cheaply.

I agree about KELSO, if they bought CFDs (leveraged) higher up, thyere now in trouble.

They got great publicity, especially while Apollo were in play, but theyve had their day. Theyve got no fresh input.

Apollo should buy in the market, they're allowed to. Spend the next 4 months building up a 4.99% stake.

Then the day the GS expires, go over the 5% threshold and launch a hostile bid.

They could afford to bid up, having bought 5% very cheaply. I'm sur some of the (alleged) 65% would jump ship.

They have 4 months, they could sit on the bid and accumulate stealthily without moving the price.

The Liberium not came out last month. Not today!

We all know the GS is going in September.

Nearly everyone on here mentions it as a reason to buy the shares at this level.

Do we really think that the sp will languish around these levels, then come September, it will suddenly pop and a queue of buyers will suddenly appear?

Not easy being a shareholder today. Plus disappointment, We should have seen it coming.

But there is value in THG, Apollo know it.

At some stage, god knows how or when, it will be realised.

Youre all assuming he cant get the BOD to extend or reissue a ne GS!!!

MM, at the moment has the best of all worlds.

He runs it as a private company, and has all the advantages of a public company. If he performs badly, he distorts the truth and points the blame at the city or the press.

He's currently invincible, he has staff, GS, IIs, QIA all on his side.

As PIs, im afraid we are stuck until something gives.

Maybe they didnt make a formal bid. Maybe as a result of discussions with MM, they realised that he wasnt going to give up GS. So they walked away.

Kelso are already being ignored. Theyve had their moment in the sun!

Surely it should have been him who consulted with the IIs, and then reported back to PIs, etc.

And to have been in the negotiation process, with shareholders interests.

It seems to have been MM handling the entire situation.

Apollo come back with a hostile bid, after september.

MBO - MM cant bid too low, having rejected £1.70. In the meantime, he can buy back shares in the market, so the free float is negligible.

We continue to stay listed and drift around 50p-70p for the foreseeable future.

MM's statement implied that Apollo liked what they saw, bid too low, we dont know what, and was rejected by BOD (ie MM)

Doesnt mean they cant come back and go hostile in September, provided MM doesnt do something underhand and reissue himself with a new GS.

Back down to 2.5p (placing price)

I hope they didnt invest too much of it when THG were over £1.

Some idiots on here (I think it was onsolidground) were heavily tipping them, and indeed bought them, when they were 3 or 4p. The day before the announced placing!!!!!!

I had wondered who had driven the price down so hard in the last few days.

All things being equal, THG are cheap. We have to get through this messy technical STH unwinding today.

It looks like that is happening 15m traded so far.

From here? Hopefully new base is formed, and we continue higher.

There's more buying than I thought there would be.

Maybe insiders (MM's mates) closing recently opened shorts???
