Good interview with Anto Ceo on Bllomberg,didn't say to much about the future copper price but did say that he has seen very little impact regarding the trade wars
Also current Ev usage is 200,000 tons of copper per year and he expects it to rise to 2m tons by 2030
With only 2 or 3 new mines being built over the next few years then where is the copper going to come from

I think it is a glitch,however with the Chinese reducing the reserve requirement ratios today by 1% in order for banks to inject cash into the economy it may give copper a bit of a lift

I don't have level 2 and I don't understand charts I am just a simple person but I know when a share is undervalued compared to its peers and I know when a company is making money

I totally agree they should have developed Koksay which I think was the best one out of Aktokay snd Bozshakol albeit it was the last one to be purchased
Why are they wasting money doing a study on it when they can't afford to develop it and why involve the Chinese for it to lay dormant
Perhaps there is a plan B

Anybody got any thoughts on what will happen with Koksay
Having received 70m from the chinese for a stake in it I felt certain that this would be the next project not the Russian one
They obviously can't build it yet so why would the Chinese invest if nothing is going to happen for 10 yrs

There was an interview with 2 copper traders on Bloomberg last werk they say it had got to break above 2.90 before it will rise further
There prediction is that it will just move sideways between 2.75 and 2.85.So unless something moves it we are stuck with it
Dont look like China will move it Sept pmi down again

With copper down and Ftse futures down then the mining index will follow and likewise Kaz
It's a pity that Kaz don't react more like Anto with swings of 1% ish but with Kaz it's always much more,so the recent gains of Friday and Monday looked to be wiped out

I agree with you it's just a matter of time and it might be next year before Kaz gers back to the £8 mark

Copper has now turned positive Ftse mining index up over 300 yet Kaz is down 16p
Does somebody want to but them cheap and the market makers are depressing the price

Just read another article on investing.com that supports my previous post that copper speculators have cut back their positions for the first time in 3 weeks

I think that the price is being held back due to a number of bearish positions not least the Gelin Dahua fund which turned from bull to bear at the same time copper went from 3.30 to 2.60 give or take a week.Sooner or later they will have to reverse their position which will send copper higher
United states interesst rate decision on the 26 th could well put pressure on the dollar which in turn could help the copper price
Once we get copper above 3.00 a pound then I will be quiet happy for Kaz to build momentum over the pre christmas and new year period

I agree my calculations are just the way I look at it .If you factor in how the Ftse mining index is doing and the general health of the economy y etc then bearing in mind they nearly got to 11 pound when copper was at 3.30 who knows it might ge nearer 14 pound .It all depends on how people perceive the debt issue with the new mine this obviously eases the higher copper goes as it creates greater profit and cash flow

I am no chartist and don't work out the intricate sides of a balance sheet like Harian but i thought i would give you my guest and see how far it is away.
As a general rule of thumb Kaz rises by about 50p for every 10c in the rise of copper price
So if copper was 4 dollars a pound I would put Kaz at around 12 pound mark

The 16m is the Uncrossed trade which you ignore

Hopefully some of the bears will go back into the woods again and we can rise back towards 3.00 in the next few weeks

Yes I can agree and see your point but I still feel some thing is holding it back
Hopefully we won't hear much more about the tariffs until after the mid term election and towards the end of the year when with a bit of a Santa rally and into the new year we might see it back towards 7700 unless Brexit holds it back
