Re the pound being up and Ftse neutral if you look at the 1 June this year Ftse was 7700 and dollar to pound .75 now Ftse is 7300 and dollar to pound is .76

However Ftse100 is struggling and thus Ftse mining index isn't doing all that good either
Always strange to me if the Dow goes down the Ftse goes down but if the Dow goes up Ftse doesn't follow

Copper sunk again following more comments from Trump on China tariffs

Everytime that man opens his mouth the price of copper moves I have never known a president like him.Hopefully after the elections and the Democrats win the house he will be a little bit quieter

I was a politician which I am not then it doesn't make sense to impose big tariffs on China if you intend to speak to them and perhaps resolve the situation in a few weeks time
The midterm elections are not looking very good for the gop,and I am sure that the advisors will be asking him to tread cautiously until then,recent polls show that 60% are not happy with him over the Mulller enquiry
I suspect that there may be further tariffs imposed this week but with an implentation date perhaps in the new year

Looks like it will take a bit of effort to get it above 474 and stay there.Perhaps this afternoon will be better

In a perfect world you may be right but now Kaz is not liked,the trade tariffs are hurting the chinese and with 200 billion more next week this will have a knock on effect with the copper price.It may take a long while to get to 3 dollars or more and like I have said before no copper deficit until 2020
I hope you are right as I am a shareholder as well it's just that I am not so confident looking at the bigger picture

I agree if you are prepared to wait 10yr then the share price and Copper price will be good but that's a he'll of a long time to wait by which time we will have another global recession

Russian deal was 2nd Aug exactly a month today

You obviously haven't seen the news and the price of copper tonight

On the 15th Aug copper was 255 and Kaz was 547 now copper is 269 up 14 nd Kaz 471 down 76 so do you think that they still track each other

It's has always been a day traders dream share and now after all the bad press I am wondering if it will ever recover

Wondering the same thing didn't do much for Kaz though it is still negative at least Anto followed it a bit better and went positive

Why do you think that copper will rise,I have just read on Reuters that there might not be a deficit until after 2019,unless the trade spat can be sorted

Garydav some good posts which sums things up nicely.I would be happy to see copper above 3 dollars and stay there but you never really know.If Trump and Xi can sort the tariff things out which they might have to if the Republicans lose seats and the Democrats gain control of the House of Rep in the elections on Nov 6th
