Romaron / Stevo12
Doesn't it depend on the company having $600m in tax to pay ( hence the 91% tax allowance )
Stevo12, Do you have Bloomberg terminal perchance, if so any notable selling or change of holdings ?
Cheers
404x,
Using the numbers up to the point where I was able to track total stock on loan and the activity afterwards, I would expect there to be something like 5% short. We only know Marshall Wace and Systematica are 0.49% each. It has been shown on shorttracker they go under then back over 0.5% reporting threshold, which indicated they have not reduced from 0.5 to zero when they show a tiny reduction to 0.49% ( just below reporting threshold. I am also thinking Rathbones might be selling out as they have reduced such a lot in 2023
NigeCo,
It does look a bit like it was taken down for some accumulation, together with the 25,000s we had though out the day. The other possibility is it was a sell ( or short increasing ) but I do wonder if the order book would take 500k at 52.15 ?
Godders99,
You know as well as I do this can move in-excess of 100% per day ! So yes 10p to 20p in one day 10p to 30p or 40p is possible within a week, and that is probably why you haven't sold.
Good luck with your holdings
Caveman70,
Silly sod doesn't realize that a market cap of £236m means you can have fully underwritten rights issue at an acceptable discount to current share price. Rights issue should be unlikely as directors/ founders hold 128million shares here and would not want to be diluted.
Spookytooth,
To be honest I wasn't expecting such a sensible reply. I think your prediction could happen, the market likely to punish the update regardless of how good/ bad it is. I am expecting net debt close to £200m EBITDA circa £100m and a forecast for growth for 2024.
Good luck with your buy in.
Dumbly,
Yes I think I agree with that. Although on Rockhopper as I used in my example, in the absence of any real news/ developments I believe it has had a long term effect, until things are known and the Institutions will dictate the price. The ADVFN board for RKH has been completely taken over and destroyed by disruptive / abusive posters, just think of the damage loosing an investment BB does to a small cap stock.
Dumbly,
Not wishing to pick an argument and I would say I find Stevo's posts highly informative, but we all know Enquest can be extremely thinly traded daily, we also know that some of the holders on here have millions of shares and lots have 100s of 1000s. They alone are enough to move this market without factoring in stop losses hit and all the algo trading. Another good example is Rockhopper where there seems to have been a de-ramping crew working for years, pure estimate but I reckon they could have wiped off 50% of the value there.

In 2023, Pernod Ricard spent 1.9 billion euros on advertising and promotion worldwide. This was the third consecutive year of increased spending.
Last month rival drinks giant Diageo also reported strong growth, particularly in its premium segments. The business intends to “invest strongly” in marketing in 2023, while continuing to use its own effectiveness tools to increase the efficiency of its spend.
