Incidentally and to answer your question the buy price quote higher than sell price quote is NOT because of mid day auction.

It could be the shorts final push down to capitulation point so they can close.. or it could be two other scenarios.
I find it curious that the push down is when Brent is recovering.. hence shorts might reconsider their positions.

Great post, we had all this on the Kier board when panic was running amok there. Tomas Cook with a trowel was a good one and of course Carillion mark II. It hit 59p there close to 3 times that this week and they still have big issues !
