I think what you are describing explains the undervaluation of UK O&G stocks, however despite the head winds I feel there are more than enough Institutions around the world to re-rate some UK O&G companies. Have Azvalour not put £75 to £85 million into Tullow ?
Granted we are not the whizziest next big thing tech stock ( like Rivian or Tesla ) But as the Fed shrinks its balance sheet the easy money stops ( or slows ) and we could see a rotation from growth to value stocks ( with assets )
In a bid to de-value the Swiss Franc against the Dollar did the Swiss Central bank not buy into a lot of the US tech names AMZN, META,GOOGLE and so on. Accidentally making Trillions which backfired spectacularly by raising the value of the Swiss Franc.

I thnk we were all there in PMO for the lofty heights over £1. Some did well, some did really well but what a risk we were taking when you look at what happened.

Happy Birthday, todays price is only relevant for today if you want to buy or sell. But can I ask why invest so much in one stock ? Don't get me wrong this could be a great recovery play on a strong oil market, but why concentrate all that risk ?

Seems like the market is sayng 60 to 50p at the moment. I noticed there was heavy selling at 61p and continued selling pressure at 60p. I sold out completely between 60.5 and 59.3p which today looks fortuitous. Looks like Azvalour still buying though, there is obviously a lot more volume on Tullow, more short positioning also. Enquest likely to be the slow and steady wins the race over 2022.

Yes I believe the hedge could be settled in cash and give some more upside to oil sold in higher oil price environment.

I would add Rivian, Tesla, Bitcoin could go to zero or close to. I guess some people thought Phillip Green's Arcadia Group was a good investment at one point in time.

Or the other side of that argument is, when interest rates rise ( although only to 0.75% ) and the bond buying taper and FED balance sheet reduction gather pace, these tech stocks with valuations of 70, 100 even 200 PE based on nothing but hot air will deflate. Many hedgefunds will go bust loosing investors money. Look at FEVR this week.

Care to elaborate ? Enquest is not heavily shorted right now ( or ever ) Its just not a good risk to short a company where the CEO owns so much stock in my view.

There is nothing safe about a company that has a very large tax dispute.

Does this mean Tullow's breakeven is $65 ?
Anyone got any calcs on our breakeven ? Hedging losses ?

Much higher AISIC similar to CEY and I suspect POLY when they report. I view all of these miners as a way to play Gold and Silver prices and or Inflation. Inflationary pressures and higher AISICs across the board plus lack of exploration ( similar to Oil right now ) should lead to much higher Gold prices this year and next.

I thnk Putin is testing Biden ( who is weak ) and the EU. Its impossible to second guess the 3D chess Putin plays unless you have a KGB handbook .My holding here transfered to Centamin will transfer back when the time is right.

To get to 90p by 3pm ? $90 oil, $100 oil I think we will get to find out either way !
