Philpot, I’m sure the last thing the board wants is a large scale vote of no confidence whether it’s enough to win or lose doesn’t stop the fire being set. I’m sure they would pretty much do anything to avoid such a confrontation

Ftsemajor, I think you might be right & 14% divi between now and then. Speculation of this alone will drive the share price up, irrespective of whether Gavin delivers or not. In my humble opinion. If as Pete says there are signs regulator restraints might become more business friendly & increased interest rates. This share could still do very well. I think it belongs somewhere between £3.50 and £4 just based on market value without any hype.

Hey Avrohom, I’m really not sure where this leaves the chairman only weeks after supporting his CEO enforcing the strategy, publically saying he didn’t care about the share price or challenging bonuses. Based on that I think the only thing he can do is tell investors to calm down. If he does anything else he might look a bit fickle?

Assuming it’s his money, surely blind faith, love and any other illogic is just as good an investment strategy as the guess work everyone else applies (whilst trying to convince everyone it’s not) ?.

lil you are on a sticky wicket on interest rates because there’s more to a pension than it’s benefits. For every quarter percentage rise in rates, BT’s pension deficit reduces by around £400m.

I’m saying I can only see DT as a potential. I think recent news is hot air. My concern this enevitae disappointment is going to hurt share value again.
