Hi Darkarches. Its actually quite chilly around here at the moment so on this occasion there was only one other person outside but inside was full. As you say, a sign of confidence!

Just been to my local Marstons, the Foxglove, for a couple of lunchtime pints. There was a real good atmosphere in there with no spare tables whatsoever. I sat outside to relish a couple of scoops - a Cumberland and a Hobgoblin Gold.

The manager says it's been similar throughout yesterday and today which is great news.

Surely takings across the board this month will help create a bit of a peak to the share price.

I'm booked in tomorrow night with the family for steaks all round 50% plus the privilege discount on top! :)

That was a legal view on the decision making process though, not necessarily the outcome. I think members will stick to their guns to represent the local electorate, unfortunately. I cant see any of the members changing their views. However one change in favour of the officer's recommendation would leave it in the hands of the chair's vote. Fingers crossed it is quickly heard and that one of the members sees the light!

That's the right decision as the meeting represented a circus. All will happen now is the planning committee will sit again to rehear the item. I suspect most members will stick with their original votes but we'll see. I would rather have had a decision notice with a refusal so we can crack on with a written representations appeal and an apllication for costs

The decision was made at planning committee. Unless they rule exceptional circumstances in terms of the presentation cutting out etc (and ive never known that to happen ever before, unless its an official 'deferral' that would need to have been made clear at the meeting) the notice will be a refusal of planning permission.

I agree the backers behind this and fpm's track record are what will ultimately drive the company forward.

What I really still can't get my head around is why the share price is expected to jump so much on a deal. You pay for those assets and the price you pay becomes a debt to the company. Any profits from the oil/gas output (if it's a producing asset) is surely then contributing to paying back debt. I'm a little confused but I'm sure there's a good reason why share price is expected to jump so much - economics certainly not my forte!!

This application is extremely unlikely to ever get called in to be determined by the Secretary of State. The secretary of state will normally only do this if the application conflicts with national policy in important ways, or is nationally significant. The proposal itself is not nationally significant though i appreciate the end game i.e. indigenous oil supply perhaps is.

That is very naughty of Councillor Rivers if that is true. That in itself could be classed as maladministration! I trust that this matter has been raised in any complaint against the committee process

Trollhunter2. This is obviously a very unique situation regarding the virtual nature of the meeting and whether the pauses due to technology will mean it will be reheard. If it was I'm sure the committee will come to the same decision i.e. refusal due to politics of it all, especially where there are a number of strong objections.

I believe that a refusal will be issued without a reheard committee but we'll see.
