This may have something to do with why Total walked. Their 25% probably wasn't worth the hassle and they'd rather put their cash elsewhere. We'll never know the real reason, however all that really matters is the current situation which is that Tullow now owns 100% and the news coming out of Kenya looks positive.

Yes, my view is simplistic. However, the figures being quoted now are the same as when Tullow only owned 50%. I know Tullow doesn't have the cash to develop Kenya, however despite what the media would like you to believe there's still a thirst for oil. Comparing Kenya to Uganda is not realistic, that was in 2020 at the height of covid and Tullow was borderline going bust. In fact if that sale hadn't of happened we probably wouldn't be on this BB right now. Anyway, not long till we find out what happens, so in the meantime I'll dream big.

Bluemoon71 .... The 450m barrels of oil in Kenya at $80 is worth $35b and requires a $3.5b investment. If he sells it for $450m I think he'd get lynched at the next AGM .... forget about the biscuits!

Sorry PGee ... I did interpret your post as you being a bit impatient, so apologies for that. I guess the argument still stands and is valid for anyone who is impatient. I've held a lot longer than I ever planned too, however think the next 6 months are critical. Sadly not had any funds to top up, but that did also stop me topping up in the 40's. Although at the end of the day, if it does go to £1 even topping up at 70p would make you nearly 50%. Finally getting interesting I think.

People are too impatient here ..... yes it would be nice to have everything announced today, however that is just not the reality. Rahul has a 5 year plan and we're around 2.5 years in. To me it looks like it is going well and confident that in H2 of 2023 there will be more announcements. Rahul has stopped the rot and we've gone up over 50% since the May lows. Also when you look at the RNS history since mid June you can see Rahul has stepped up and taken notice of what shareholders have been saying and been supporting the share price. In fact there has been a flood of news lately:

12th June - Bond tender offer

19th June - Bond tender offer result

20th June to 26th June - Director buys

28th June - Appointment of Rebecca Wiles to the board

30th June - More Director buys

12th July - HY Update

14th July - Jubilee Update

17th July - Jubilee producing over 100K

Probably the most interesting are the Jubilee RNS's as we had one on Friday last week and one on Monday this week. So looks to me it was probably done for maximum effect on the share price, as possible could of just been one announcement on Monday.

This share is a top up if you can afford it and at worst a hold till the end of the year. GLALTH

Don't worry bluemoon71 I plan to continue keeping score. It's a nice reminder to them not to be so smug as they've lost the same profit as we have. Obviously it's a very simplistic calculation and depends on your entry point, how long you've held etc., etc. Bottom line is it demonstrates no one is right all the time, you can't always accurately predict what will happen and you're only right until you're wrong.

Doctordong as for you flippant only 30p to go comments, that's really not a big jump and only requires another £500m to be put into the share. History tells us it's very possible and can happen very quickly.

Still don't know why people want to short this share at the moment, as it's clearly changed direction. Catalyst 1 (JSE production increases) is basically in the bag and the news articles around catalysts 2 and 3 (Kenya and Ghana gas) are very positive. I've been wrong a lot in the past 2 years with my predictions and am not expert, however have a very good feeling that the next 6 months is going to see us pass 60p again.

It looks likes Indonesia are definitely building a refinery in Kenya and what is very interesting is that President Ruto has signed off on this. So looks like he has no objections to Kenya extracting the oil, despite all his posturing in favour of the green agenda on Twitter.

"Jakarta (ANTARA) - Coordinating Minister for Maritime and Investment Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan revealed that state-owned oil and gas company Pertamina plans to expand its business to East Africa by establishing an oil refinery in Kenya.

"Pertamina will enter Kenya after being asked to establish an oil refinery there. We also see an opportunity to bring their crude oil to Indonesia," Pandjaitan stated here on Friday.

Following a meeting with Pertamina's President Director Nicke Widyawati, the coordinating minister remarked that the option to bring Kenya's oil to Indonesia aims to cater to the high demand for the commodity in Indonesia.

"It is their oil that will go to us because we still need it," he stressed.

However, he admitted to having no idea about the production capacity potentials in the planned oil refinery in Kenya, as the planning is underway.

"We are still finalizing it, and there will be more meetings (about it) if I am not mistaken," Pandjaitan noted.

During his earlier visit to Kenya's capital Nairobi last January, Pandjaitan invited President William Ruto to bolster strategic economic cooperation between Indonesia and Kenya."
