JMAX ... if you traded your way out of trouble I suggest you count yourself lucky, sell up and move on ... I'm afraid to say any holder who has Tullow shares and feel the need to express as much negativity towards Tullow as you is either an idiot or a shorter pretending to be a holder.

One positive to come out of this in the near future is that governments may open the cheap money taps again ......

6 countries on the red list for a new covid variant that is so scary they have only found 59 cases worldwide and don't even tell you how many of those cases died from it. So scary that they are unsure if we need to be concerned about yet. Found in Botswana, South Africa and Hong Kong. Strangely Hong Kong isn't on the red list ..... Hmmmm

If you owned 250k shares and sold them now you'd be selling the equivalent of 10% of the volume so far today. To do that you'd only need roughly £100K in shares, which is small change for a lot of traders and trading institutions. So I think it's not unbelievable to think someone has found a nice little algorithm to use to day trade this and is controlling the price, while making a tidy profit.

I've not sold any of my Tullow shares and have been waiting patiently for great things. However, I'm starting to think I should be trying to trade the swings. Only problem is knowing my luck, the minute I sell the Kenya RNS or something will drop and it'll spike up 100% before I get to buy back in. Frustrating!

How can I predict and trade these 5% swings .....

This is randomly jumping up and down by 5% at will. If you could predict and trade these swings you could make a fortune.

Today's closing price ....47.06p

While we're still way off 65p, I think we'll see a slow and steady rise over the next 3 to 4 months. Perhaps even a nice spike upwards along the way with a good Kenya RNS. If you're short you do have to ask yourself if you want to lose any more money or if there's any point waiting to take your profit when this is clearly only going up. Either way.... time close and go long!

Despite what it seems today was actually a demonstration of how resilient Tullow has become. On an overall bad day in a falling market, we ended up basically the same percentage down as Shell. Last year we'd have tanked 10 to 15% on a day like today.

Today's drop is not Tullow specific .... a lot of shares are down 3 to 5%

Don't worry .... when you walk into the showroom you will be greeted with a smile by Phuthuma Nhleko who will give you a smooth sales pitch and sell you a very nice car.

I suspect we may see quite a few of the old names who used to post on here and jumped ship to Enquest back again soon.....

Rahul Dhir also told Reuters the firm did not plan to sell more oil and gas fields after disposing of assets worth $750 million following last year's oil price plunge, including its $575 million sale of a Uganda project stake to Total.

"No divestments are on the anvil, we think we're done with that," said Dhir

Everyone keeps rattling on about the debt. But is the debt really a factor now, as long as you can afford to service the debt and don't need to take on anymore debt. You just keep on making your payments and refinancing it when it matures. It will eventually be paid off and inflation over the years will help. Most companies are never debt free, hell as an example Shell has debt of nearly $60 billion.

Yip......I remember a few weeks ago when there were people saying they were waiting for 40p to buy back in. Must be kicking themselves now.

Dico1991..... getting a bit desperate with the deramping...... that short of yours isn't working out too well I see. We're a long way off 40p and may soon never see the 40's again.
