If you look at the short declarations for Pictet Asset Management Ltd and Pictet Asset Management S.A. They appear to be two different entities in two different countries, with different short positions on other companies. So not sure if they are the same and it's a reporting error or if the are actually two different short positions. Really not sure what to make of that, does look odd though.

Either way I guess it doesn't matter as this share is only going up.

And we're not down much .... a good sign I think. Also, nice to see the bounce up from the dip to 50p. They want these shares that's for sure, don't let them get them cheap!

Could they really have been so stupid to take a 1.27% short on Tullow after the results day and oil at $80. Only other thing I can think of is it's some kind of transfer between the two entities, maybe to write off the loss they've made on the short against tax or something like that.

Nice big reduction .... hopefully the returned shares won't be flooded back onto the market, but may explain the dip today. I think the shorts will finally have to concede defeat on this one. Can't win them all.....

Large (sic) sell order of 400k shares at 50p been sitting in the L2 console from 5am. The cynic in me thinks this is an attempt to block this going higher than 50p today. Could of course just be someone who woke up very early deciding they want to get their money out......hmmmmm.

I thought the derampers had been a bit too quite lately.

I don't currently hold Tullow shares.
I sold my shares at 30p and it went to 65p.
I closed my short at 60p and it went to 40p.

Happy you have proved time and again you don't know what you're doing, so give it a rest.....no one cares what you think.

Yes, I have been fortunate and do understand people get angry when they've lost money. However, posting comments like this share is pathetic is really not going to help you make any of your losses back. People do read the comments on these types of forums when making investment decisions and if they're full of negative comments by holders why would they then decide to invest.

Oiluser..... this share may be many things but pathetic it's not. Maybe you're sitting on a loss, which explains your negativity. But you need to rather look at the positives, like the fact we're 5x higher than the low of last year. Negativity does nothing to help the share price or encourage others to invest.

No idea.... guess you'd have to find out who the bond holders are. Doubt it makes any difference to Tullow if the lender goes bust, as they already have the money and someone would just take over the debt.

Try find another share that gave you a 300 to 400% return in a year. People are just too impatient. My prediction is if you hold within a year from today you'll at least double your money at today's price. You'd have to keep your money in the bank for 100's of years before you'd make that return in interest. Each to their own though.... In holding patiently as we've been through the worst of it in my opinion.

Small reduction, but a reduction all the same. I'd be happier if we were over 65p, but despite all the trash talking during results week we're up 15% from the 40p close the week before the results. Great things ahead for all the holders of Tullow shares I think!

I like buying the occasional Euro Millions lottery ticket. My £2.50 buys me hopes and dreams, even if the reality is that I will probably never will win it. Tullow shares are obviously different, as Tullow is well on the road to recovery. I just used the analogy as there are so many people on here say they hold Tullow shares but are constantly negative. Yes, the share price movement is very frustrating at times, but why be negative.

I'll go yes as well ... what's the point of buying a lottery ticket if you don't believe you're going to win!

JMAX .... what I post doesn't change the fact that you're constantly negative about the share or the fact that we should be well over 50p with the current situation. Even with all the games being played we're still up nearly 10% from the close the Friday before the results.

JMAX... sorry but you're talking nonsense. If we're forward looking than we wouldn't have dropped from 65p to 40p in the 2 months up to the HY results. Every rise is justified at the moment as we're way under valued in the low 40's with the current oil price and the companies prospects.

The headline sounds negative .... however the amount of recoverable oil has been know for a long time now. The big take away from the article is the following:

"Tullow has already presented the Kenya government with a draft comprehensive investment plan for oil production in Turkana, looking to beat a government deadline to do so by the end of this year or risk losing the concession.

Tullow expects the Ministry of Petroleum to peruse the plan and provide feedback before it presents a final plan by December.

Approval of the investment plan will see the firm kick off plans to build the infrastructure, including an 825-kilometre heated pipeline to evacuate Kenya’s oil."

My experience of the auction is that it's where they hoover up your shares on the cheap when you've set a stop loss :-(

At least the biggest since March last year and some other big trades after hours. Think we may see a reduction in shorts next week or perhaps a new investor taking a stake.
