Jef... yup, definitely don't like what you have to say, but you do make me laugh with statements like "brent is struggling at the moment". You don't have to be a rocket scientist to look at the 10 year oil price graph and see that since 2015 oil has seldom been over $60. Then of course let's not forget the oil we have hedged at $68. Only thing driving Tullow down is general market selling and malaise. Last year we had the neigh sayers telling us we were doomed and it's the same now. This will go up a lot quicker than it went down.

In a perfect world I'd sell every high and buy every low, however the world is far from perfect. So I just hold while you talk smack from the sidelines and all I will say is time your entry point wisely as this isn't going to be this price for much longer. In fact I will stick my neck out and say I predict a blue finish today.

The takeaway from this for me is that we haven't seen a single big short increase on the drop down from 65p to 45p, in fact we've seen a small reduction. Also, there has been a small drop in oil, but no negative news. So I think we are suffering from a general market dip much like a lot of other shares, which are down a similar amount. I saw the exact same pattern last year in July, August and early September when prices tanked and then then the prices rocketed over the next few months. I like to think history always repeats itself, so think we'll see an upturn soon and when it does, it will go up fast. So am holding and guess time will tell .... in the meantime it's hard to watch :-(

Sadly we only track oil down..... getting really hard to watch this everyday. May need to go somewhere without internet till late September :-(

BumBum ... I'm no expert and all my posts are merely my opinion for what it's worth ....

To me a the share price is now all about barrels of oil per day and debt. The more barrels of oil per day the quicker the debt can be paid and a return to dividends. So to me a good Kenya RNS is one that tells us when they'll start producing (sooner the better) and how many barrels of oil a day we'll get (the more the better). I assume you already know this and are asking for some actual detailed facts, however that I'll have to leave to the clever people on here.

Agreed ... think I preferred it when we were out of the FTSE 250, as all we seem to do now is track oil. When it dips we go down and when it rises we go up, but the problem is oil dips during UK trading hours and then goes up when the markets closed :-(

Anyway, frustrating as it is, I still have faith as have seen how quickly it can rise once the buying starts. Hopefully we get a good run up in the 2 weeks before the half year results. End of the day nothing has really changed since we were 65p except the share price and if we get a good Kenya RNS it's going to rocket.

So by my calculations Tullow produced the following:

TEN - 35,000 * 0.4718 = 16,513 bopd @ average of $58 per barrel = $957,754 per day
Jubilee - 70,900 * 0.3548 = 25,155 bopd @ average of $58 per barrel =$1,458,990 per day

Taken from the Kosmos half year results RNS. Sounds like things are going well.

"Ghana

Production in Ghana averaged approximately 21,900 barrels of oil per day (bopd) net in the second quarter of 2021. As forecast, Kosmos lifted three cargos from Ghana during the second quarter.

At Jubilee, production averaged approximately 70,900 bopd gross during the quarter. At TEN, production averaged approximately 35,000 bopd gross for the second quarter.

The first two wells in our four-well campaign were drilled in the quarter with the first Jubilee producer well (J-56P) completed and now online with Jubilee currently producing around 80,000 bopd. The Jubilee injector well (J-55W) is expected online later this quarter, which should further increase production.

The rig is then scheduled to drill and complete a TEN gas injector well and a second Jubilee producer well later in the year with the Jubilee producer well expected online around the end of the year.

The reliability of the Ghana production facilities continues to improve, with uptime of the Jubilee and TEN FPSOs averaging about 98% year-to-date. Consistently high levels of water injection (>200,000 barrels/day) and gas offtake from the Government of Ghana (>110 mmscf/day) are helping to optimize reservoir performance at Jubilee, which is expected to support long-term production levels."

I mean £0.097 and not 0.097p of course before anyone comments on that.

@Jeffrey1979 ..... why the hell would I constantly ramp and defend Tullow if I didn't have any shares. More than likely I have more shares than you given my first purchase was when Tullow was 0.097p.

Perhaps you're not a shorter and are a holder and perhaps you're not, but comments like yours with terms like "bloodbath" certainly don't help the cause.

But yet the price drops from 65p to 45p ..... and they say the market isn't corrupt...... Hmmmm
