Firstly, people are wasting a huge amount of emotional capital on Brexit. Younger generations are far more EU membership supportive than an older demographic. The next generation of Tory leaders, like Davidson are pro EU membership, the same goes for Labour. The UK will be back in by 2035 at latest, more likely before 2030. By 2021 there is a majority in favour of rejoining. By 2025 it will be a significant majority. So relax.

Debt levels are not something I'm happy with, given the huge VZN cash return. I have no doubt what so ever, that if debt was around �10 billion, the Vodafone share price would be appreciably higher.

170's would not surprise me either. However no kitchen sink job in prospect imv, as the new CEO is the current CFO, and the new CFO already works for VOD. Hopefully low 180's or in to the 1.70's will not happen. It may be worth keeping in mind the UKX is at record levels here, and VOD is weak in a very strong wider market.

In to the 1.80's is less than 3% from current levels, In terms of NAV, this is not a property company. However if you want to look at the UK's largest REIT, Land Securities, that sells on a 30% plus discount to NAV, with significantly lower gearing than VOD.

Just take a look at the respective 5 years share price performance. It's a case of read it and weap!. 1.80's beckoning for VOD?.

Well longer term borrowing rates are rising and there's not the slightest mention of debt reduction from Vodafone. it may leave VOD vulnerable to any revenue/ cash flow disappointment. Think it's a reasonable view and it may also be weighing on the share price. Given the huge payment from the Verizon sale stake, to see the balance sheet end up with a mountain of debt is very disappointing.

VODAFONE Debt is at extraordinary levels with no indication of any plan to reduce it. Which might be ok, Except bond yields are rising, and borrowing is gradually becoming more costly.

I would think the IC SELL on BT has far more impact than any views expressed here. No large BOD buys post results, even at these levels. Short term-overdue some better days. Having said Sell on results, going for a Hold now given the precipitous decline.

Positive to see some belated movement in that direction. It's too late in the cycle for expansion, the focus should be on net debt reduction at this point, imv. The question you need to ask is ...how will MARS trade through the next recession?. I don't think we are in for a repeat of the financial crash, but recessions have not been abolished.
