It drives clicks and engagement, its why fake news (lies) travels 7 times faster in the digital world. Dont be so naive to think every investor does their due diligemce or not, most are lazy, and rely on others it how the psychology of the markets plays out so consistently at a micro and macro level. Just the regularity in this age is higher, more hype cycles and more crashes.
