1. Closed above 50ma for second day
2. ema3 (having already crossed 8ema) crosses through 50ma
3. STO & MACD positive.

And, this is with 13.5% shorted stock.

Shorters, you're either going to have to short even more OR pray for bad news ref. PETS.L or further geo-political/fiscal negatives.

Moniman is probably thinking what I am thinking:
"With the Co. doing well, and natural upward pressure what is the motive of the hedge funds???"

In terms of technicals, this is a fascinating position at close of business, today. More strength than in many a month.

Engadine have a choice to make: "Reign it in further, or let it go ;)

More shorting = more trashing of natural upward pressure (for now) and pulling the petals from the flowering technicals.

As they do so, their risk increases exponentially.
For sure, at some point in the not so distant future someone will leave this party in tears.

I'm kinda answering my own question :)

Kellet cancelled participation in the share options scheme on 4/10 in relation to the 2015 scheme at £2.30 and then 7 days later elected to participate in the 2017 scheme at £1.57.

So, Pritchard is probably either:

A: About to resign//be replaced
B: By chance is doing some basic personal management of his finances and options
C: Is aware of a better scheme about to commence and intends to participate.
D: Is about to BUY a chunk of shares on the open market.
E: Doesn't believe shares will recover to £1.57

IMO, there will be another RNS coming shortly that will reveal the reason.

The manipulation is technical.
They are responding to technical movements of the share price.

There is a natural upward strength. Engadine want to try and foul the technical aspects of the natural strength.

On this occasion it took substantial shorting to stem the pounce up to £1.22 and kill it.
It came at a huge price to Engadine.

It's all in the detail.

They're shorting because they can. Don't confuse that with reality.

However, it's important to understand fundamentals, agenda of players, and technical analysis.
PETS is a superb example of all these elements at play.

What an amazing few days for PETS: both technically and in terms of general news||sentiment.

Some may feel that today's close - down on Monday's close - is a sign of weakness.
No, it's a sign of strength.
Why?
a: 3ema about to cross 8ema line
b: price closed above 8ema line for 2nd day (in fact, it ran back to secure tgis position before close of business)

What happens with the price movement tomorrow - and Thursday - is going to reveal how committed the hedge funds are in driving price down.
Make no mistake, there is 'natural' upward strength in the price.

It's time we took a breather and handed the mantle of 'most shorted stock' to Debenhams.

Wouldn't be surprising to see a sharp dip down to 1.12 to 1.13 ....
Hedge funds know you know that.
Question is, what will they do? Push it further (increasing their risk ratio); stand firm (and wait: if so, why??); or begin to offload?

Looks like they're comfortable standing firm. While fundamentals remain so good (and they are) it becomes a better and better buy. We just need PETS to remain on course.

Let me help you: to win at short trading you need the price to be as high as possible before you trade. Don't advise people to sell before you short :)

Keeps moving up to the 8ema point and dropping back.
Engadine made a very good job of stopping this from zipping through and holding 50ma on 30th Aug while also crushing the 8ema and 3ema. Nice job, shorting crew.
It wants to come back.
Either the hedge funds need to let it go or buyers need to return and hold firm.

Not reading anything that suggests i should be selling. This was always - for me - a 'buy and tuck away' investment.

FLF appear to be prepared to take their holding to 29.9% - just under the buyout ceiling.

Yes, you're right, that can happen.
I'm monitoring PETS.L daily.
It appeals to me because it's both a value and a potential growth stock. It's also interesting to see how the current share trading unravels and develops.

I sold my holding for a profit last week.
I'm waiting/hoping for a really good re-entry point. That may be on a dip or on a trend (up).
Time will tell.

One reason, why not:

Creates a dynamic market that brings in revenue to the exchequer (tax) and bolsters the profit of the City (growth).

As for pets.l, i tend to agree, it's being shorted because they can. It's a suitable target.

Growth across business.
In control of margin dilution while investing in retail positioning.
Profits AND (importantly) cashflow maintained.
Vets increasing with lots of further upside potential.
Management clearly working to build on several bases.
Customer loyalty also very good.
I see a lot of further upside medium to long term.
