You've just quoted what he said after the prototype failed to materialise in late May/Early June as he promised.

Don't think I said at any point there wouldn't be a test. Did say it's a big if as to whether they can get it up to the required standard. Never once said that there wouldn't be a test though, so fake news from you there.

Rafboy, how can the tests be on sale in the middle of August when they won't have even started the trials proper until the end of July or early August? Assuming optimization isn't completed for another 2-4 weeks yet.

Trials I imagine going by other examples will take 4-8 weeks. So late September or early October is surely the most logical time for it to be on the market.

Regarding my timelines, if you'd been following the company and everything it's said thus far you'd be aware that the prototype was a month later than Alastair suggested. You'd also be aware that they are now trying to optimize the test, another delay of a month or thereabouts that Alastair obviously didn't factor in with his original timelines he was touting. So reasonable to assume a 2-3 month delay over what was originally suggested. What's difficult to understand about that. Unless you can show why you're right, please don't be so bold as to tell me I'm wrong.

If you think September is when things will start happening, then I'd say the days of trading to this are only just beginning. My prediction is the next RNS will suggest a long wait (By AIM standards, 4-8 weeks) for further development and approval. I'd say people will be trading this to death for a long time yet.

............AVCT is far too slow getting this test to trial proper. They hinted that the test would be on the market by the end of July prior to the placing. If, and it's a big if, if they are able to get the test working properly then at the current snails pace, plus the months delay getting to the prototype stage, we're looking at early October at the earliest IMO. About 2-3 months behind schedule IMO, in spite of the claim they were way ahead of schedule prior to rinsing everyone. Food for thought.

The point is people will chase up ODX to try and make up what they've lost here.

Given the palpable disappointment here and major slippage in the timescale of getting the product on the market relative to what was initially implied, I think a big drop below £1 is inevitable now IMO. Will lose a lot of money to ODX today too I imagine. In ODX's credit, they had a substantial placing but at least had major news to clear the overhang. AVCT has virtually gone quiet as the grave since the mega placing.

.............Speaks volumes that there is so much selling well beneath the placing price at the moment. Same as every other company that gets a mammoth placing away. The truth starts seeping through the ramping and people start selling when the timelines set by the company are obviously out of the window and in the river.

Why the delay. Either Cytiva was dragging it's feet on purpose, or there were massive issues with getting the Affimers to be accurate in the test strip IMO. The fact they have said they are going to go on poncing about with it for God knows how long trying to get it to perform better when they're already a month behind is a very worrying sign IMO.

Cytiva now not manufacturing is also a big concern. A lot of red flags getting thrown up now IMO. Shame so many people refuse to consider them.

I'm pretty confident that if they can get the LFT to a standard that is acceptable, and their vague statements up to now make me wonder, then it's seems inconceivable to me that the test will be on the market before mid September to early October. They've delayed far too long IMO, and the test being on the market in July that was suggested in May while they were trying to ramp that placing away now seems pure fantasy. At the current snails pace they'll be lucky to have even started any meaningful trials by the end of this month. Assume 4 to 6 weeks for trials and you're well into September. Then you have the CE and FDA approval to get. October at the earliest now IMO. At some point the company will have to let the cat out of the bag that they're way behind schedule, going against their previous statement that they were "ahead of schedule" IMO. What do you think that will do to the SP?

Two months to the day this stock was trading at 110p, and after all the ramping and people losing a lot of money since the spike and placing, it's still trading at pretty much 110p. So for all the people who said wait a few months, well done you've achieved precisely nothing a few months later, PMSL.

Too many unexplained delays and subtle contradictions and amendments to previous RNS's here for my liking. The big red flag of course was the completely over the top placing which should have alerted everyone to the boards confidence in this going forward IMO.

Would help answer a lot of questions about the huge delay so far and explain that pathetic webinar they did to "help other companies trying to produce their tests". Food for thought IMO.

There's also the possibility that Cytiva have been dragging this out and coming up with a product of there own (Or for another US company) after analysing Avacta's product. Cytiva may not actually be on Avacta's side here. We know how slippery US companies are. They get their own stuff to market first and drag their feet with everyone elses. The US won't want a UK business having anything to do with their pharma crusade around the world at a time like this.

......Indeed the LFD is long overdue IMO. Alastair made it sound like it was literally days away from prototype stage in May and that it would be on the market by July. Of course, once he got that placing away, we started seeing the reality of the situation. We barely have a prototype going by the last RNS and it's July tomorrow. They'll be lucky to get this on the market before September which will be a massive amount of time wasted and a huge amount of value down the pan IMO.
