My observation that the market Buys far outweigh the market Sells, assuming that trade times have not been misreported in a systematic way, is an undeniable fact. The conclusion that the Market Makers sell short into buying pressure is then a trivial one.

St0wski - what you are suggesting is one Market Maker A (who may be long) selling options to another B (who may be short) to sell them shares at a specific price, so that B can continue to sell shares at above the strike price without risking their short position getting too large.

Whilst in principle this might seem possible and no doubt a clever statistician could work out how to price such an option it does rather defeat the principle of having multiple market makers providing a degree of market efficiency through competition. In effect market maker A is undermining their own long position by setting a point at which they could be obliged to sell the shares they spent much time hoarding. I suspect that in a liquid market the volumes do not justify such financial alchemy.

most of the liquid stocks on AIM are exactly the same.

I think that the 2x500K (at 19.00 and 19.1p) are repeated in the 1 Mill trade at 19.05p and that the second of these is essentially just an inter-MM transfer, so has no impact on the overall MM nett trade position for the day, which still has them selling 500K more shares than they have managed to get from PIs.

Normally I might be slightly concerned about this as such a large nett excess of buys merely acts as a prelude to them walking the price down, however today's keeping the price on a short choke-chain indicates that there is clear concern about their ability to continue with such a rinse and repeat procedure and that the penny is now beginning to drop - Vanadium prices are clearly rising, China is back to business and the boss of Eskom is telling the world that it would be a missed opportunity if South Africa could not use the World Bank BESS projects to build local manufacturing capacity.

JVtech - it is quite clearly not 'making a market' - they are trying to find some way to 'make a packet' but cannot see the way clear to this this morning.

Here's a suggestion - try getting all those who are only just buying shares to pay higher prices, then see if you can get a frustrated shareholder to sell you some shares at above 20p

They now have to decide what they are going to do - move the price up to raise their short sell average price but at the risk of encouraging more buyers in ?

Lindon, the whole point about the leasing model is that it allows the a third party financing company to come in and own the electrolyte whilst taking leasing payments. They do not get to own the electrolyte without buying it from us first.

Richard - its not reality an issue of British Tech innovations - the VRFB was invented in Australia and the real innovation here was Bushveld, a South African based Vanadium producer bringing RedT and Avalon together with a guaranteed supply of leasable Vanadium.

The claim that you can level at the British is that they don't get behind their technology like the Americans do - every blind bit of nonsense that emanates from Elon Musk (South African but operating undercover in the US) is repeated breathlessly as the solution to all the worlds problems, including battening it up and zipping off to Mars, though it is not clear to me yet quite how much of this publicity is effectively purchased through cheap deals on electric cars.

This however does not explain the difference in SP between IES and Hydrogen plays such as ITM and AFC - this difference may be explained by the fact that the so-called 'Hydrogen economy' has been touted in the US for the last 20 or so years. They evidently have not managed to make that work at any kind of scale (where are the hydrogen refuelling stations ?) - instead it has been the reduction in pricing of chinese made PV and more-widely made wind turbines that has really changed the demand for large scale energy storage in the last 5 years.

Thus it may take a few more years before your average UK AIM punter gets it and understands what the point of a Vanadium flow battery is.

Given the fact that two years ago Lyndon Williams had over 35 years of experience in the vanadium and steel sector ( http://www.bushveldminerals.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Site-Visit-Presentation_29032019.pdf ) I reckon that by now he probably is coming up to a well earned retirement. We are very lucky to have been able to benefit so greatly from his huge experience at Vametco and Highveld.

No Lindon and Uksteveg you are wrong again. The person who was held responsible for the lack of performance of the Vametco mine was not Lyndon Williams but rather Malcolm Curror who was replaced by Bertina Symonds in April 2019

Lyndon Williams, who I have met and chatted at length with, was moved to head office to oversee the wider development of the Vanadium platform, which subsequently resulted in the purchasing of Vanchem in May 2019.
