Seriously starting to clear the site is not a RNS-worthy event and so what if it was we've had much worthier RNS's that have made bugger all impact on the share price. That's because the SP is gamed by the market makers and their friends.

All I wanted to do is let people know that the SP is not where it is at - what is really going on on the ground is more important.

we'll get another update on Vaneck and will be able to see if the 1.2M shares currently still on their books look like they are going to be sold any time soon. The precise round number nature of this number makes it look like they are being held because they are currently being loaned out to a shorting outfit. Assuming those guys started their short around 27p then they stand to make nearly £1 Million if they can close out at 19p.

It is annoying but an unarguable fact that it is very easy to game the share price like this. Part of the problem is the Long term holders, who are not handing over their shares cheaply to the market makers, so that they can close their own short term positions. This forces the MMs to drive it ever lower, looking for cash calls on leveraged positions.

Eventually they run out of road and these games have to stop. The only question for anyone who understands what the company is really doing, is whether they are able to get their hands on sufficient cash to be able to continue to lap up shares at these boxing day sale prices.

So it looks like the 1.2M still being 'held' by Vaneck are actually being loaned out to shorters. Let us hope that those shorters are simply let out with a 1.2M buy that is coordinated with the 1.2M final sell by Vaneck because if it is then it means that Vaneck fundholders have been right royally shafted by the actions of their fund.

Firstly Vaneck fundholders got to pay over the odds for BMN shares when they bought 17M shares at the end of October - with the crazed buying simply allowing the MMs to spike the price up to 27.5p from 22.5p. There is a strong whiff of something strange around this as the SP rose from 22.5p on October the 18th to end at 27.25p on the 21st of October.

The first verified buy by Vaneck was only 500,000 at 3.14pm on the 21st October - it looks like there was significant pre-awareneess about this buying before it happened. The subsequent 12M buys happened at an average of about 27.5p

Two months later Vaneck, either due to a cash call or regulatory restrictions on holdings, have again backed out of their BMN shareholding. Being forced to sell 16M shares at around 19.5p average netts Vaneck fundholders a total loss of 8p x 16M shares = £1.28M or $1.66M - this equates to about 0.9% of the total value of their fund. Congratulations.

To add insult to injury it is the very behaviour of the Vaneck fund in lending out BMN shares to shorting organisations, as would appear to be indicated by the remanent holding, observed for the second time in 6 months, that has been a significant factor causing this loss to the Vaneck fund. If I was a Vaneck fundholder I would either be asking the organisation some hard questions or I would be asking for my money back.

1,716,926 is the number of shares that Vaneck had left at the end of yesterday ( https://www.vaneck.com/etf/equity/remx/holdings/ )

The last 5 digits match precisely, leaving a block of 1.2M shares.

They may be holding on to this block, in which case, given the fact that BMN has been undeniably been removed from their MVIS® Global Rare Earth/Strategic Metals Index (MVREMXTR) implies that they are holding onto that block because they are currently prevented from selling those shares, having been loaned out to shorters. We saw exactly this situation in August, September and much of October when c. 4M BMN shares held by Vaneck could not be sold down for the same reason.

Alternatively the 516,926 is simply the last block of shares to be sold off and we'll see evidence of another 1.2M block sold prior to this at some point in the next few days. If that is the case then Vaneck are out for some time and their shorting hangers on have closed out too.

It seems that they have taken BMN out of their silly index again - to make way for the obviously incredibly important JINDUICHENG MOLYBDENUM company (who they ?)
