The share price is so still today. As if it is holding its breath waiting for something to happen.

I agree with most of what's been said, however regarding discounts, it very much depends on what you are after. The stuff I tend to buy have the same price across all stores, whether physical or online. My assumption is that the brand sets a floor for the retail price.

SG2025 that was argument. Where is a meaningful differentiation that gives competitive advantage?

Carrot thanks for your advice but the share price is saying clearly as it is, since Peter cowgill was ousted and he himself sold his whole stake at peak. He surely knew better than the expert you are.

A PE of 7 you say. That's the PE ratio of an utility company, with no growth a steady income.

Likely what JD has become, a place to shop with no differentiation from competitions.

I visited JD sports recently. Most of Nike stuff are the same old stuff.

Nike keeps showing no innovation. Without Nike, JD won't thrive.

A PE of 10 at best if Nike recovers and if it let's JD stand on its shoulder.

On Monday, the 28-day period from the last TU will have lapsed. Although the 28-day rule does not apply to IQE, the frequency of disclosures (Forms 8.3, 8.5, etc.) suggests that IQE may be in an offer period. Therefore, we should expect to see news by Monday at a minimum, an announcement of an extension of the offer period.

Although a bidder has not been publicly named, the intensity of Rule 8 disclosures suggests negotiations are active and approaching a regulatory inflection point making a statement or panel mandated update increasingly likely.

The sportswear fashion growth rate is quite good actually. JD has to capture it. Become more brand agnostic, perhaps focus more on own brands like Pink Soda and Supply and Demand. The more diversified and with its own labels, the more leverage they will have with Nike and Adidas (especially Nike) which look after their own betterment (and understandably so).

The potential to launch their own labels is huge in my opinion as they can leverage the footfall in store to just display stuff rather than paying for expensive advertising.

The City has to stop on focusing on the UK. The UK is a mature market, ridden by the Labour's inconsiderate policies. JD has to navigate the challenges but don't expect growth in the UK. Look abroad.

That said, I am concerned about the sliding of the dollar.

SpecialValue I am surprised HFG has no systematic strategy to navigate inflation. It is here, it always will. They can't take a hit every time cost of raw's shoots up. They can't go in emergency mode every time it happens. I hope the new management will be better at this.

The strategic review should also consider straightening up management at Foppen - Greece or dispose of the site and invest proceeds somewhere else.
