Bendipa I wish I could say the same. I bought 2 years ago or more for £8 per share. A recovery, although possible in the next 2-3 years, is unlikely. If the dividend is retained, I will try to be happy with the 7% yield (on what's left of my initial investment).

Bendipa the dividend costs about 30-35m so still affordable, but hard to justify with such a drop in profits.

The absence of an update on Canada and Saudi is a bit odd.. should we assume there are no bad news there?

Delisting is a possibilty at this point. I dont think IQE will be ever to raise any equity in the current state, so why not ditching the cost of being listed?

The best is a cash all share offer. We may know more within 2 weeks (unless they get granted an extension).

A dividend cut is coming too, that is priced in.

From what I gather they are moving towards smaller and cheaper machines. This will give them access to smaller builders, especially in Europe where I don't think there is much demand for £100k+ building machinery

Has the Foppen factory been fixed/do we know when the FDA will inspect (with a looming gov shut down)?

Are we on target (and in budget) in Canada and Saudi?

Are there signs of pricing power with Tesco with the restricted fishing quotas?

POTUS dismisses the weakening of the USD, calling it a yoyo. A weak USD can favor exports but exporters are dealing with retaliatory tariffs, disadvantaging the US in foreign competitive markets. Mystery man.

US earnings are 10% weaker compared to 1 year ago. If USD can find a solid footing again, JD could see a 10% uplift from the US alone. The USD decline seems structural tough.

Tempted to add, it may be an easy double. Risk is a potential delisting after disposal of certain assets.

@jackdawsson there is no point in hoping for the share price to go up. Unless you want to add before more news are in the public, the share price action is irrelevant.

All will be determined in the coming weeks/months by acquisition deals.

Worst scenario will be the sale of part of the business to pay down debt, maintain IQE as a stand alone entity (reduced in size) and delisting, which will be a massive blow to current shareholders.

Best case will be an all share offer for £20 per share.

A weak USD is not great for JD.

@rashm I hope to see a big jump but TBF it is unlikely, until macro improves in the UK. I am confident however that Labour won't fix the UK economy, therefore it is more likely you make money by trading in and out. I am not good at it so I will refrain.

@TomBeef No doubt JD is a cash cow, but for us private investors what counts the most (if not exclusively, especially in absence of a decent dividend) is share price appreciation. There is no momentum and I can't see anything between now and the next trading update to change investor sentiment and bring about a reversal.

The trading update itself was not bad, especially after a lowered guidance, but had zero effect on the share price. If the trading update did not much good, what else could do better?

The price action this week is enough to forecast subdued recovery leading to summer and the world cup. The downward pressure is significant. In the meantime, money can be deployed somewhere else. I'll reduce (but not exit entirely) and will reinvest if and when the EU and the UK stabilise.

The UK is responsible of 0.8% of the total greenhouse emissions. We must reduce to zero and save the planet from mass extinction, whatever it takes, including the sacrifice of the livelihood of millions of Britons.

Sometimes visiting stores won't tell you the full story.

The LFL in the UK were down 5% however as far as I understand, small stores seem to be quite inefficient, JD may be closing down smaller stored and opening megastores to make up for the losses.

The new stores may not feed in the LFL figure for the current year. Perhaps just a speculative statement but a possibility.

The reaffirmed guidance is reassuring but we seem stuck below £900m PBT, let alone the £1b mark.

I can see JD struggling but not as much to justify a valuation that a failing company would deserve. 120p is the bare minimum the market should pay for it but if investors see a poop(or as somebody on this board said a "poop that won't flush") rather than a decent business there is nothing I can do.
