The game is on terrestrial tv. Absolutely nothing to do with ITVX
bald eagle, won't the vast majority of people just watch the match on ITV in exactly the same way as before? Its just watching a big important match that's live on the terrestrial tv. I don't see how itvx even comes into the equation.
Strike, do you really believe all that? I've just started watching that series about Kim Philby which I guess makes me one of your "20 million subscribers" but from my point of view nothing much has really changed from when it was the Hub. I think the launch has been fairly low key and I've certainly not heard anyone from ITV making the sort of grandiose claims being talked about on here.
How's this for research;
ITV Share Price in 2014 = £3.00, 2017 =£1.50, 2021 = £1.20, 2022 = £0.75.
I trust I've covered all the key points.
Well its not exactly the only share price that's suffered this year is it? For a long time we were trading at around £1.20 but then the board announced plans to beef up streaming and the SP took a hit from which it has yet to cover. Most of the "good news" that gets posted on here turns out to be of little consequence - and in truth was never really going to be anything else. Speaking as somebody who is currently underwater all I can do is hope for the best in 2023.
It all seems to have gone a bit quiet on this echo chamber of good news. Come on Sissyphus you most have some persuasively worded baloney to cheer us all up with.
The benefits of ITVX seems to be passing me by. Its not obvious to me why its any different from either the Hub or Britbox. Hope I'm wrong but can't see it having much impact.
All very persuasive Uncle D but then again the SP hasn't really moved much today has it? Fact is we are still at much the same price as a month ago and on that basis it seems England having a good world cup run has little or no bearing on the share price.
I'm not sure that's how advertising works. Next Saturdays match is going to be on the BBC which will presumably hurt rather than help ITV viewing figures, moreover is it still possible to buy advertising time for the semi-final evening? I suspect not and that all the advertising deals were concluded quite some time ago. Hope I'm completely wrong but I strongly suspect that all the benefits of the World Cup and indeed Dec 25th have already been taken into account.
To echo the earlier post by Synic at least we are being paid a dividend. Can't wait to be in a position to sell my shares at roughly break even levels - which in my case is 89p.
I'm baffled as to why some of you are so obsessed with what shorters are doing and how much interest they are allegedly paying. Personally I don't think many private investors are shorters.
Yes whenever the price drops it can only be down to shorters and or MM. You guys have got the game well and truly sussed.
Speaking as a very reluctant LTH its clear to me that only a takeover bid or potential sell off of the production arm will move the dial on this one. All the so called good news about the World Cup and Xmas being on Dec 25th has already been factored in. I know some posters are optimistic about ITVX but personally I can't see it doing any better than Britbox or the Hub. Thank god they resumed paying a dividend.
Sisyphus, what do you mean by "as Christmas advertisers take positions"?
Winstanley, Thanks for taking the trouble to reply. I do sincerely hope you are right about ITVX but as you admit you're optimism seems to be largely based on a hunch/wishful thinking. GLA.
Winstanley, Why do you think ITVX will prove to be a huge success?
Wow, didn't think we would get back down to anything like these levels. My average price stands at 89p. Luckily I don't need to sell so at the moment its just a paper loss but even so it still hurts. To a degree I could average down but I'm reluctant to do so. On the other hand I can't see ITV going bust so things will probably come good eventually (especially if they keep paying a dividend). The other point to bear in mind is that pretty much all shares have taken a hammering - as verified by my professionally run pension pot.
Thanks for the link, just read the article but really didn't see anything there to alter my view that its the actions of the big institutional investors that matter. Just by the by how does one get a job as a paid poster? (asking on behalf of a much more intelligent friend).
Joking aside I don't believe that anybody who posts on here has the ability to influence the share price. The fact is we are just a small number of noddy investors who spend a lot of time hurling childish comments around. I will concede that posters like Hexham do have a good grasp of the subject but if you think that anything written on here can influence the fortunes of Cine then you will believe just about anything.
Pss, You've made over 6,000 posts, please please please help a novice and tell me how I can get a job as a paid poster.
