PssPoor investor, What evidence do you have to support the claim that there are "loads of posters working for the large shorters"? Also how do I go about getting such a job? Thanks in advance.
Imulhare, you've lost me there, 12 months ago the SP stood at 80p so presumably the amoral shorters that everyone seems so obsessed with are quite happy with the way things have turned out - though not sure we can say the same about the singularly more virtuous long term holders.
Fair point Officemanager but a bit rich coming from someone who's made over 7,000 posts.
I was wondering where all the long term holders have gone? The people who used to brag about topping up at 80p, buying on the dips averaging down etc. Whatever happened to those people who wouldn't tolerate a single bad word about Cine or countenance any semblance of an issue with servicing the debt?
Embarrassing.
Great insight Ian, not many people have have your grasp of the wider picture - shame you're not running the country.
Spot on again Ian, as you say its only a matter of time before the takeover bid(s) start rolling in. I bet you've made a fortune on this one.
Good stuff Ian H - the more times you regurgitate this argument the better - you've got the game sussed mate.
Dead right Ian H- you've nailed it again, only a matter of time before interested parties start bombarding Cine with cash.
That's nice Shazabo. It's good to see that you are maintaining your dignity even in these difficult times.
Yes Ian, just been reading through your posts and you've clearly got the game sussed mate.
Sammy I think that's far too optimistic. I'm expecting Cine to trade at no more than around £1.76-£1.78 by close of play on Monday - but then again if the SP manages to break through the psychologically important £1.82 support barrier you may well be proved right.
Just bumped into a somewhat perplexed Latpulldown this morning on his way to an early showing of Casablanca. He tells me he went to see Top Gun for the 27th time last Thursday morning and reports that the place was absolutely rammed yet from reading this board it seems the company is still in some form of financial difficulty. Totally baffling, but on a positive note loads of people were buying drinks and popcorn. Keep the faith and good luck to all long term holders.
Shazabo, the aptly named poorinvester and others seem to spend an awful lot of time thinking about the plight of poor old "shorters" and worrying about how much they are going to lose on Monday. Honestly boys I've no idea how many shorters there are on this board but I'm sure they can manage perfectly well without your advice.
I don't understand why anybody expressing a negative view is immediately branded a shorter with a hidden agenda. The reality is that posts on here will never impact the SP, Its just a discussion forum and reasoned opinions should be welcomed but when anybody pointed out the Cine debt burden was so high as to be existential threat they were immediately jumped on. A bit of humility wouldn't go amiss and it would be nice if some of the more vociferous LTH's would actually concede that they got this one wrong.
Listen, whenever I've posted anything negative/realistic about Cine I've been accused of being a paid de-ramper and other such nonsense so yes I am taking pleasure in the misery of others. Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of people as far as I'm concerned
I'm no expert (and neither are you) but given that this business is still taking lots of money at the box office I'm guessing the most likely outcome is that it technically goes bankrupt whilst effectively continuing to trade under another guise which would of course be very bad news for all long term holders.
Bonkers, makes a nice change to read a refreshingly honest post. I'm sure most Cine investors are in a similar position - I'm in exactly the same situation with ITV and would describe myself as a very reluctant long term holder. Like you I have averaged down and thereby ended up with a bigger holding than was originally intended, luckily I probably won't need to sell anytime soon so it may yet end well. Still, I have to say Cine seems an extremely risky bet to me.
Just read an interesting article on the Seeking Alpha website entitled "Revenues Are Recovering But The Debt Weighs A Tonne".
If you NEVER listen to rampers or derampers who does that leave to listen to ?
