However. I've given time to thinking about it, and here's where I am. Melody's ticket on the Knapster deal is that they will be the one-stop shop for modern music. i.e. a huge catalogue from Knapster and live gigs, which they do themselves. No-one else does it.
Forget FB's recent deal with (Tidal, was, it?) . If Facebook seriously want to go with music it would be far easier to buy a quality set-up - it's not as if they can't afford it, and there are tax pluses.

I had thought FB were not the take out favourites. Maybe I was wrong.

AM is a sound engineer by profession so his work is audio/visual. There's not much audio in sport apart from the commentary.
NextVR sort of did it but didn't get very far.

And all the work going into the Napster set-up suggests Melody are just not interested in sport anyway.

What Mr Trump plans to do about Broadway is even more important for us.

Who knows Max, we could get really lucky if Melody could negotiate with the creditors to wipe the slate clean.
The music companies and partners concerned should be largely the same as Melody's, so at the very least part of the debt might be removed and the rest re-negotiated on favourable terms.

Unless I'm missing it I can't see any mention of the $44m debt in the RNSs, only the media columns.

The debt is apparently owed to music companies and other partners so do we assume it's a legacy from Napster's 'illegal' days? If so, what has been their repayment plan, and how fast have they been in reducing it?

No doubt Melody and their advisors have done their due diligence, but it would be good to know how THEY plan to deal with it. Debt is not something they have been used to living with.

How Melody will deal with this, I guess only they know just now. But their plans would have been in place well before the RNS was announced.

Whilst MelodyVR has a USP, Napster does not, but it's a huge market that supports a number of players.

Melody are playing a new game and when they 'fanfare' Napster which they'll surely have to , it will be interesting to see what part VR will play e.g. will Broadway become a separate subsidiary?

It's nothing original, but they could offer Napster for free for an initial period - get the subscribers in and hold onto them for keeps. Their huge catalogue should help.

They're not always in a rush to do it Italian, but at some point Melody will have to update their '3% plus' list which shows on their Stock Exchange page.

As I said to Moon, it seems what they are effectively doing is similar to a discounted rights issue (at 3.5p) for the largest holders.
They will hrobably have a qualifying cut-off point and the shares are maybe being offered on the basis of 1 for 3, 1 for 4, something like that.

The phrases 'suitably qualified' and 'specifically invited persons' come up in the RNS.

The company are raising cash by offering shares at 3.5p to 'specifically invited persons.' - their wording.

It is in effect a discounted rights issue for the chosen few. What they have probably done is offered the shares to the largest holders . A full rights issue would probably have been too expensive and time-consuming to undertake.

It's 3.5p. All to do with the placing.
