It was in effect a discounted rights issue at 3.5p. But only for the largest shareholders, not us.
This is not unusual, but Melody are not the only ones to have done it. Their argument probably is that it would have been too costly and unwieldy to involve all the shareholders.
This is never popular with PIs as it results in dilution of their shares, but I guess if Melody eventually becomes a multi-bagger, all will be forgiven.

Lord also does a fair bit of research. and he writes in plain English. (we can forgive the odd Grammar bloop.) Personally if the post goes over my head, it's lost.

I agree, it's difficult to figure. We can't expect to accompany LN to everything they do, but it would still be good to know why we are not involved. After all, Kiss are in our back catalogue.

At least Melody have done their bit by promoting little/unknown artists without any cost to them during Covid. And Napster pay artists about four times as much as Spotify.

And why don't artists discover Melody? A pity O'Brien didn't even mention them.

If the SP only opens at around the pre-suspension level, it would suggest nothing has happened over the last three months. That would be disappointing.
In a way we have benefitted from the sleepy share price by topping up as and when. I've bought more shares in this company than I originally intended, though I have absolutely no regrets.
But there would be no sense in doing this forever, and at some point the share has to start going northwards. At the end of the day, this is what we need it to do.
It's anyone's guess what it will be on return from suspension, and knowing Melody an RNS from left field is always on the cards.

I'm never sure what you're position is with Melody, but you just give such a negative impression.
IMO this company is brilliant, never more so than now.

It has needed a lot of patience but a number of us stand to benefit well financially. If you turn out to be amongst us I will be more than delighted for you. Really.

Yes phub. Exactly how huge will depend on the MMs' assessment of everything. (glad it's their problem.)
But any sort of mark up will attract profit-takers and top-slicers. This is more akin to trading than LTH.
LTHs, i.e. serious investors will hold on and be rewarded longer term. IMO.

A £220 market cap would equate to an SP of only around 11p now, following dilution since the JG options were granted.

There is a lot for the MMs to ponder over now, including the Kaiser Chiefs and LG gigs i.e. put simply, how much money they make. I would have thought Melody would wait until after these have taken place before returning to market.

It is perfectly possible - even likely - Melody have made 1000 VR recordings.
I first bought these shares in August 2017 following a column in the Daily Mail. It stated that they had by then secured content from more than 500 artists. This in turn was more than 600 recordings. Back then.
We are now more than three years on, and whilst I haven't kept a running total, three hundred or so more to reach one thousand is all that would be needed. With three years and three months to do it.

There's been so much happening during suspension Gaz that I haven't been able to work it out.
However whilst Melody have never been ace communicators to us PI's, they have never put a foot wrong either.

After waiting for our first A-lister, we now have two approaching very shortly, The Kaisers, and then LG. This should mean serious monetisation. The Liam Payne gig doesn't really count as it was just a training exercise. Melody didn't make any money out of it. That wasn't the intention.

We're still not sure exactly when we'll be back from suspension, although this should be timed to optimum.

To conclude, I don't think the MMs are going to take any chances. The SP will be marked up from the off, and nobody will be able to get in cheaply. It will likely leave very few, if any, of us still under water.

The deal was all about Napster Lord, and Sonos was just in the background. But I agree, they seem to be playing more than just a bit part in all this. There has been so much going here that it's anyone's guess what the SP will be on return. No IMO from me, I haven't got one as far as the share price is concerned.

I had a look back at Tidal. I had thought FB were going to get more involved with them than they seem to be, but I can't find any more 'new news'. They are charging 19.99 a month, that's dollars and pounds. (It should make it around £15, but this is rip-off Britain, I suppose). They have a service at around half that, but I imagine you get what you pay for.

I can't see what they're doing that Melody aren't. Whilst I don't like competition, I welcome it if said competition is inferior to Melody.

With this year being what it's been, Napster has been a godsend. Hopefully next year the Broadway musicals will be back. Still potentially the jewel in the crown. IMO.

I wondered how many PI's like us do Melody have on their register.

I've been following two other companies with almost exactly the same M Cap as Melody, (one I invested in, one I didn't) but their LSE bulletin boards are comparatively lifeless compared to Melody's.

Using that as a comparison there must be a small army of us.
