The company came to market in May 2016 as EVRH, and when I first bought shares in August 2017 they'd already secured content from over 500 artists. At this point it was still in testing mode.
It is not clear (at least not to me) how many more there have been since, but the back catalogue seems to have taken a back seat. They only ever intended to drip-feed it and the live stuff has been their priority
This is IMO but maybe the early stuff generally lacked quality, and may not have been compatible with the later Oculus standalones or other hardware, anyway.

I think what is frustrating and annoying about this for all of us is that, whatever our holdings are, we could have bought the shares more cheaply. There can't be many, if any, of us not under water.

I think we need to hang in until 30 September, when the H1 report is due.
If Singtel are not all over Asia, and Napster's revenue is sagging, then it might be a worry. Otherwise the opposite will be true.
The SP is at the mercy of traders. If we can nudge into profit, then it will attract a proper P/E rating, which will put an end to all that.

Personally I much preferred Melody and the 'M' icon to Napster.
But according to Companies House form it seems the title is The Napster Music Company Ltd.
Maybe Napster, MelodyVR, and John Gore will appear in the books as subsidiaries.

The SP doesn't entirely surprise me. Time and again it has done this i.e. slipped down on no news. Although on this occasion it's obvious the messy fundraise has helped it on its way. They may have got their money but it's all about how it looked . IMO.

Last years figures are unlikely to come to much, so we will have to wait for H1, due by end September
This will include a full 6 months from Napster, and whatever Singtel brings, which they are about to monetise.
Any sort of profit would be good as it will give something for a P/E rating to hook on to. And put an end to the traders' paradise.

It is only a matter of scrolling down 'shows' on the web page to see what what Melody have done during 'Covid Year'.
E.g. Live From LA, The Free-to-Fan gigs, Giving a 'helping hand' to wannbees and even no-hopers, Wireless Connect, a gig that Melody had to do in VR in 2020, (having done the Wireless proper the year before - for those who don't know !)
And no mean achievement to get A-listers LG and The Kaisers at the end of last year.

Yet far from being a 'golden opportunity' or any other stupid tag, Covid has cost Melody a year of progress which is likely to turn into about eighteen months.
Whilst most venues now have plans to get back to something like normal e.g. Reading, Leeds, The Bestival, IOW, and whatever else LN might be planning, the whole industry can't just be turned back on like a tap.

It is more likely to be September earliest rather than mid-summer before re-start in a big way. It will be easier on insurance costs.
Completely new calendars and venue lists have to be prepared, and of course there is the 'small matter' of getting the artists together.

So the app might not be be ready until Q4. That is hardly 'missing the festival season' which will be ongoing.

Any any talk of agreements with LN and JGO being ended, are just a figment of the imagination of the few who take a weird delight in wanting to believe that. There has never been any mention of it.

I see no change as there has been no marketing anyway as far as I can see.

But this brings us on to Equitory.
It is not clear what in their service Melody/Napster are asking them to do.
And how much said service is going to cost.

I guess it will be fine if Equitory make more for us - either from revenue or SP hike - than we pay them.

Taking a line through Spotify, if Napster can reach 5 million, that is (conservatively) two per cent of Spot. Spot's market cap is $60 billion (they've never made a profit). On that basis Napster is a $billion dollar company.

That is without considering Napster is a hybrid with loads more to offer than Spotify. Like you, this doesn't make sense to me either.

I would prefer to think the IR company weren't involved with Primary Bid, who don't generally attract rave reviews.

The over-complicated fundraise , although it succeeded in raising the cash, resulted in a 20% SP drop in a matter of days. More than negating the flimsy 8 per cent discount.

It isn't clear why Napster have brought them in. Their services are varied. They get involved with larger companies as well as smaller ones. So M & A perhaps?

How will this affect Nikki Lambert's position, I wonder. There seems to be some crossover.
