TheOldBee. I totally agree with you. The simple fact is that when a trade is struck, it should be easy to ascertain if someone has hit the Mm's bid (therefore a sale) or lifted the offer (therefore a purchase). It's not the market maker or this site that cause the lack of clarity, it's down to the regulator to enforce that the buy/sell marker is part of the trade report. Instead, this site and others just have to guess - if the price is higher than the mid price, it must be a purchase and below, it must be a sale. I would guess that in 4 years of regular trading about 40% of my trades are shown bass ackwards.
