Nick, don't take this the wrong way (because certainly not my intention and I don't know your background), if a grand is a lot to you or a considered amount, I would still advocate trading / investing but I would stick to less volatile shares, taking a look at the charts you cans see ridiculous large swings, and if a considered amount your stress levels will take a pounding.

That said 1.76, you'll likely be fine with this one.

Barclays, I has one for £2.25, which is still there set for my whole holding, then instead of amending that one (as I probably had done) I set another for 1.45.

I suppose they let you have multiple as I should have set the 1.45 at say 50% of my holding and then the 2.25 at 'all'.

I don't particularly use limit orders that much, just I'm away from the office this week, so I can't tell you if having multiple limit orders is unusual or not?
