Invest: i'd also love a derisked top up...but with a half decent RNS i see this opening up 100% minimum....not like it's out of the blue...unless they do it intraday.

i think we all know that i'm not usually one to be rampy when it comes to WSG...but a thought just occurred to when reading Vander's post:

what if the hold up is not at the WSG level? could it be that the contract has been finalised between MPS and WSG, but the actual economic outcome is determined by the final fees being charged....and since these are being disputed, the contract may not yet be in full effect yet. i.e. if the fee increases stick then WSG gets more, if not then they get money based on the existing fees. could well be clutching at straws.

I suspect that PF would have been shouting about this if it were the case. The counter to this is that if he doesn't need to raise and doesn't need to do report until next year, he can sit on his hands happy in the knowledge that the shares are massively undervalued but knowing it's only short term so doesn't matter.

Mike: we're all stupid and gullible (evidenced by our continued ownership of WSG) but surely no one is still that foolish???

(that said, if it didn't costs £10 a time to trade, i'd be doing it all the time to test out that theory)

Invest: do you still have 300,000 shares? nice investment, but if you wait for the contract to land then the price will most likely be north of 20p (certainly if it's a good enough RNS to add on). So you're buying 900,000 more shares.. That's £180k....shouldn't that be invested somewhere?....or have you sold down so your current holding is much smaller?

When it comes down to it, if he signed the Tema contract and the share prices flies then all will be forgiven. if he doesn't (and can't get something else from KSA, Africa, Iran etc) then he's toast. either way there seems little incentive for him to update the market if he doesn't have to.

p.s. clearly given the delay it was the right call to raise when they did (well, obviously they should have done it a little earlier)

One end stated that revenue would accrue once the contracts were signed (or finalised....I can’t remember the exact wording). To me that says that we are unable to accrue revenue yet which means that we are not legally entitled to them yet. MPS may decide to back pay us, but from the RNSs I’m pretty confident that they don’t have to per the LoI. Doesn’t mean they won’t, they could well have changed their agreement when the delay became longer than anticipated. But I think the RNSs don’t give us any insight here

Mike: I’m a little confused as to how we can not receive revenue but can receive payment. If they give us any money, or even agree to pay but the cash hasn’t arrived, then we’re receiving (or at least accruing) revenue. Anything we receive from MPS for scanning is revenue.

H&N: I’d love to be as confident as you, but PF expressly said at the AGM we were working for
Free initially and it wouldn’t last for months and months. So I’ve seen nothing that makes me think we get paid for pre contract work.....even though logic would dictate that we would.

I was hoping for news before today as it’s my 10 year anniversary and I wanted to treat her indoors....alas I had to rely on a packet of pork scratchings and a few pints of cider.

The Times has a pretty positive story on Trump and Iran this morining too.

I still think we’re a way off, but this is the first time since we paused the deal that I’ve thought we might actually get the contract going before the end of Trump’s term.

Let’s just hope Ghana has given us something by then!

Personally, I have no interest in an update. I want a contract. Historically updates have brought pain and misery and extensions and SP collapses.

Yrbs: it could be possible theoretically. But you have to remember that this information has come from PF. He’s incentivised to put the best possible spin on things. If we were receiving or even potentially receiving payment I suspect we’d have heard about it

i agree that it seems unbelievable, but we haven't been given a single indication that revenue is accruing before the contracts are signed and that sure ain't happened yet.

at very best i think we could hope that they've agreed to pay us in lieu, but i don't hold my breath.

it was a typo - should have been ESP - Equity Share Placing....there's been massive growth in that!

Certainly another opportunity. and we're surely the top candidate....others would be charging the port to carry out the service!! ;-)

Would be a nice kicker if we did get this contract on the back of Tema. Then Iran may be back on the table in the next 18 months and KSA might actually produce something.....i've given up on the African "signed" contract

IF the US softened its stance, and IF the Iranian authorities still want WSG, and IF the exchange of letters ever happens then you’d hope that we could do a decent job and pick up more airports. There could be some serious profit to be had....this whole Trump fiasco will have put other companies off Iran even more.

Too many ifs to get excited now, but as a free option (really don’t think Iran is at all priced in - and quite rightly) it’s nice to have.

As it would be a one trick pony I think it would not add as much value as it would if part of a diversified WSG group.....but I thjnk it’s too risky to keep in a company that wants to grow internationally, and notably in KSA

Yes. I do think that they’ll have to basically hive off the Iran deal into a separate entity. Not sure if it could even stay in the same group though. I guess they could separately float it and give us shares....but that sounds fairly expensive and no doubt comes with all sorts of issues in terms of ownership and directorships etc

....all that said, it will be a long time before WSG will feel comfortable enough to proceed in my mind. They don’t want this to blow up again and take down the company......who would then pay PF’s £310 wage ;-) (just joshing Gibbo)

The advantage of trump’s judgement is that he doesn’t have morals. He’ll do whatever he can to get re-elected (and destroy Obama’s legacy). If he can spin it so it looks like a victory, doesn’t involve spending money on a war and can (at least in his little mind) claim that the “new” JCPOA is his baby, then he’ll go for it.
