Tardis: you're massively missing the point then. Trump is accused of asking a foreign power to provide him with dirt on a US citizen in exchange for government money. he's in a position of power and clearly being accused of misusing that power.

The Russians unquestionably interfered with the election....maybe Trump had nothing to do with it (quite probably) but it wasn;t nonsense to look into it

The Yanks love their constitution and cite it at every opportunity...as long as it suits them. happy to ride rough shod over it when not. I really can't see the Republican senators impeaching their own man....and they can stop it easily. don't forget that it's not facts that the electorate works with...it's opinions and Trump's supporters and many more moderate Republicans would take a very dim view of their senators acting in such a way

and with the UK, that's our fault for not have a codified constitution written down in one place....it's based too heavily on conventions, so there is more room for maneuver .

US politics could have a large impact on the share price if it involves a change in the Iran relationship (but that is, to be fair, a medium term rather than short term play)

Feeks: i'm sure many are hating it, but to impeach their own President would not sit well with many Republican voters. their best chance of a Republican in the White House is Trump. .....and if the economy turns down enough (and i think it will) then they'll struggle to get anyone in.

plus...you impeach Trump and you get Pence......don't see that as a positive for Iran.

I don't see the Senate allowing him to be impeached.....as such, our (and sane Americans') beast hope is a defeat at the next election. Biden has the greatest chance of defeating Trump, so this may play into his hands......the public may side with him more after Trump went after his family. The question is, will Iran still be in a state to have the JCPOA reestablished come Q1 2021??

You seem a bit down at the moment, as if you expected this contract to be signed before the end of the month?? I think you’ve been getting sucked along with the bullish sentiment on here. As soon as it was pointed out that the port was already fully operational earlier this month, to me that signaled that end Q3 was no longer any kind of deadline.

I tend to assume the latest RNS supersedes the previous ones, and the latest one mentioned no timing, but I didn’t mind as we’re now getting paid....to me it can now stretch into next year if it has to.

As you say, nearly 120 days, so very hard to argue with the lack of excitement in the share price. To me that’s great...buying opportunity for those with cash....but it’s not unsurprising and not the end of the world at all.

Yes, there is no evidence that there is a reason to prorogue for 5 weeks. Surely the status quo is to keep parliament open and the burden of proof is on the government to give a reason for such an unprecedented proroguation?

Why’s it so important? Is it really that bad that our elected parliament is sitting? It doesn’t impact brexit. It’s just a little more evidence that a man who demonstrably lies in his personal and professional life also does in his political one.

It’ll all come out in the wash when there is a confirmatory referendum, not on the concept of leaving but on the actual options of how to leave (it at all) that are on the table. Then the consiporacy theories can stop and we can either leave with knowledge of what we’re voting for or remain.

DHC: when pushed at the AGM about the BoD buying shares they were particularly flakey. PF had some weak excuse about having more skin in the game than anyone else. Yes that may be true, but a lot has come from options. It’s easy to have skin isn’t the game if was given to you and don’t cost a thing. I’m really disappointed that the BoD has been so weak with purchases. They can say all they like about closed periods, but they’ve be talking about how great the company is for years and not bought any meaningful shares.

Again, all will no doubt be forgiven when/if Ghana / KSA/ iran(lets not hold our breath) / Africa lands. They are on the cusp of making this company really impressive.....but to now they’ve done little more than an average PR man could do.

I honestly feel that if they can get a couple of big contracts then this could be over a pound....and then they should flog it. The management couldn’t handle institutional investors quizzing them if they were FTSE listed or issues listed bonds.

At least when DHC makes unfounded claims he says IMO afterwards.

Invest was right about 2 RNS's in June/July - he's been wrong ever since. i'd love him to be right (which he's not)....but if he is (which he isn't) i'll personally be reporting him to the FCA (which i won't have to)

i hope so, he's a great guy. we've been friends for years. he's coming over any day now to see me...i just need to send him my final installment of £15k and he'll have enough to get over here and then can start repaying me.....it may seem a little silly to mortgage my house for someone i've never met, but that's what you do for friends.

Japan are still going to absolutely walk this....the final quarter could well be a blood bath.
