Gibbo: I can’t imagine that it’s particularly expensive to brand something like this. That said, Mitchells and Butlers couldn’t be more uniform and process driven. I can’t imagine for a second that management of each outlet have the autonomy to make these decisions. Pretty sure it will be brand wide....then hopefully M&B roll it out in their other brands

HB: someone who has more recently used their accountancy skills will be better placed than I, but i think it very much depends on the items. If we have stock and get an order and ship it out then i think there will be limited lag between sale and revenue recognition.
For the likes of the larger contracts (BlackRock) there will a lag as i assume it will take time to get all the required equipment ready, probably be some training and so i'd very much imagine this will have been after the end of Q2.

there is also a question as to how much of the cost is training, and at what point that takes place. (tbh i suspect that training o these items is minimal and they will recognise revenue when the products are shipped.)

but as i say, someone else will be able to be more precise / accurate

I'd argue it's more than a wee bit unloved currently ;-)...but isn't that what we are all looking for from investments? a decent company with great growth potential that the market is undervaluing?
For me we're finally posting a profit without any major one offs and this should be maintainable (i.e. with Tema, general tech sales and Lungi coming back on line) with a couple of massive cherries that could pop any time (Saudi and Menzies).

WSG can clearly survive covid (proven with a profitable H1) so it has time to wait for travel to open back up and allow management to get out to Saudi.

thanks h&n: can't complain about this. As has been stated in the past, the company doesn't release daily updates of its sales, but puts specific ones on it's website.........not for the benefit of the investors, but for additional marketing and visibility.

i was also looking at previous announcements.....this may have been voiced before....but the BlackRock (we assume) $665k fever detection contract was announced on 26th May, so unlikely that much could be included in the H1 results running to the end of June. so that's not a bad start to H2.

My thoughts exactly Gibbo - one criticism that i've never seen leveled at WSG is that the product isn't good. we seem to get strong recognition from the industries and governments that we work with. the security world is always open to sudden bad news from operational failures but i've not seen anything along these lines for WSG in the 8 years i've been here.

MB: yes, yes it would..but one thing that WSG has never been great it is corporate communication....something i can live with on the basis that over time the fundamentals will show through. that said, this isn't just for investors but also for potential customers I guess.

The bashers will be out complaining it’s not an MSC with a billion pound guaranteed profit, but I like it. It backs up my view that the underlying business is on a great trajectory and is getting ever more diverse (hence we survived a pandemic by increasing our revenue and actually making a profit)

So unlike a lot on Aim it’s not the moon or bust. It’s now a profitable business that should continue to see growth (mainly from Tema) and I’m hopefully of non covid tech contracts once flights open up. Then you have some massive cherries of Menzies and Saudi among others.

I’ll happily hold. Would love to have some funds to add at these levels but my disable holding ain’t going anywhere.

Hands up, who made it all the way through? i skimmed but probably only took in about a fifth.....think i got the gist. DHC*** is an amazing trader, all other traders are evil, WSG is awful, he told us so, made money of shares that are down from his buy in prices.......did i miss anything? oh, and he was able to laugh at someone's joke at his thin-skinned expense (that in turn made me chuckle).
