This is why I thought CTEA’s RNS of yesterday was significant. All of the EU - bar us - had ID cards. My suspicion is that we will instead be forced to adopt a ‘digital ID’ covering proof of identity, driving licence, Covid vaccination/test history etc.

Thanks to all who have posted on the board this morning about the mechanics of the sale/timely reminders about how valuable the site is for prospective buyers with all the rare earth metals increasing in price daily. It calms the nerves to see this kind of content and is a welcome reminder of why we are all here.

I very much hope that is the case. If even the WHO is questioning the existing ‘gold standard PCR’, why should we pussyfoot around it? If we have better tests, the Gov should get behind them. The sooner the better. I would live to think that Sir Al and BoJo were getting on like a house on fire. But if Boris or his acolytes are messing us about, then I very much hope that they are getting a full dose of Yorkshire directness, and that Al is pointing out that our ‘sovereign test’ could be introduced elsewhere first, if the Gov messes us about.

But look at the flack Han**** is getting for not announcing PPE contracts within 30 days! I guess the public attitude to a U.K. consortium may be different.

So no confirmation of any contracts until April? Or do you think they will award contracts but just keep testing low key until vaccine roll-out is complete?

By the way, Avacta also uses FTI consulting for PR as of around a month ago

I agree with that Neutronic. It’s vaccine first and foremost. But they can’t introduce vaccine-related passports for travel while some people are medically advised or culturally predisposed not to have the jab. The only viable alternative is accurate testing. However, if they confess that this is on its way, anti ax ears may just hold out for test rather than vaccine. So where does that leave us? Does the NDA remain in place until the Gov is happy that all adults have been offered the vaccine?

According to RNS from CTEA. Suspect this is how literal flow test results will be recorded on passports/or other forms of ID.

DTW, yes it is strange that they feel the need to state this. One would expect Porton Down to apply the same procedures to all tests being evaluated. Makes it sound like they did something abnormal here.

Well it was the head of the WHO that urged everyone to “Test, test, test.” They should have plenty of funds available to make it happen. (Quite surprised that they haven’t ordered from Innova however!)
