Also, have you actually seen the test they are getting excited about? As Tilly would say, it looks totally Heath Robinson. How the hell are they going to get that mass-produced when it’s taken Avacta nearly a year to produce something as simple as a pregnancy style test?

It’s actually a company called Paraytec developing the test along with a professor at Sheffield Uni. It’s not lateral flow. They had a picture of it on Twitter recently which I’m trying to find. Looks very complicated.

Pigster, BRH are awaiting clinical validation of their 5 minutes Covid test by month end. (I suspect they don’t have a clue about how difficult it is to get to a stage of mass production from that point!)

The problem with the Gov slogan of 'Ready, get testing, go' is that it doesn't allow for the fact that there are two possible outcomes of a test and if you test positive, you shouldn't be 'going' anywhere.
Is this this crass sloganising what we are paying the £1,000 a day management consultants to come up with?

Mologic had an LFT which used aptamers as the reagent. In clinical trials the test performed well but below Gov requirements for S&S. There is now a new commercial agreement between Avacta and Mologic to develop a super test using aptamers and Affimers

Interesting that you ask about communication. We have a CEO who is a superb scientist and well known in the industry for communicating scientific concepts really well to a lay audience. However, we are pretty certain that Avacta has been cooperating closely with U.K. Gov on its Moonshot testing program. We believe that this involves NDAs (possibly even the official secrets act.) As a result, there has been some discontent amongst shareholders about lack of clarity/anticipated news from AVCT diagnostics division. But it’s all good and you, as a newbie, will probably just read all the RNS and think “Wow, and I bought this for less than £2!”
