Whether that’s true or not I don’t know. All we know is that’s what he told us and then he didn’t mention the export licence in the January update. That update did say as soon as the deal was signed sales would be begin. Again, I don’t know if that was true or not.

My best guess is they couldn’t apply until the deal had been agreed (but didn’t have to be physically signed, so it’s now boxed off. If that’s not true and the export licence is an additional step that still needs crossing it’s a farce and borderline unlawful in terms of the January RNS.

But as I say I suspect it’s now resolved and we just need the Chinese to find their pen.

Surprised there’s not more chat about the lack of signature along these lines. It’s not credible to say it takes 8weeks to sign a contract to sell oil, especially given they were seemingly so quickly able to agree to receive and store the oil. So, it’s either just genuinely an admin farce (which is costing MATD in storage costs) or there’s something else behind it.

I suspect the latter too, which would good news. Which presumably makes me a RAMPER!?

That said I wouldn’t see a deal to sell Heron (which is what I think will probably ultimately happen) would take it to the stars. I can’t see 1 asset going for multiples of the MCAP.

The 52% success rate on PCs field make this too risky for MATD to develop as it doesn’t have the firepower to sustain more non producing drills.

It surprised me today, I thought it would fall a fair bit on no news.

Another exciting 7am alarm awaits us all, hard not to see more fireworks one way or another in the next week when the news / plan finally lands.

We probably both agree there’s more to PCs non signing than them not finding a pen. I actually think that’s positive in terms of being part of a bigger solution - obviously depending on the deal.

Re Osun, I have to say I’d usually take the long period of silence to be more indicative of behind the scenes back and forth / negotiations. For me it remains top of the risk register (by some way) until we have confirmation it’s been put to bed. There has been quite a bit selling the last week or 2 which obviously adds to the unease (or certainly mine!). We’ve all got our own assessment of it but personally if it was clarified as resolved I’d be buying more especially at these levels.

I’d be surprised if the dividend / buyback back statement comes this month. These things nearly always take longer than floated and it probably makes sense to build the cash pile a bit more yet. Equally the pullback in the SP makes the buyback more compelling so I’d be happy to proved wrong.

Anyway, so long as the mining is producing anything near even the bottom end of forecasts then the cash build and prospects still look insanely good to me.

Sorry Thorn but you can’t honestly believe that on a random day a number of people woke up and thought the price was fundamentally wrong, having had the chance to buy under 1.50p for pretty much the last 3-4 months?

Especially given the expected confirmation of a sales deal is once again delayed?

I’m not saying it’s a manufactured spike - surely most likely explanation is a leak of some pending news, presumably positive.

Bit of a guessing game but expecting a 20% ish drop today.

Just don’t often see straight lines up without news.

For transparency I don’t hold but have no interest in buying at anything like these levels.
