You omitted to add something. The GL had to be towed because she possesses no propulsion system of her own! Although sometimes described as a 'ship', that fpso is more correctly thought of as a barge.

Personally I'd agree with him 100% on that. There's also plenty more to be found on the company website.

I feel the thing is, you've joined at an 'interesting time'. About two or three years ago this BB was earning what I think is a good and well-deserved reputation for being informative, and full of explanations and speculation among posters regarding what was happening, especially on the tech front. But back then, the company was even more parsimonious with news than it is now, so there was a lot of guesswork involved.

Times have changed, and newsflow is good, and so is the documentation of forward planning up to and including first oil, plus the strategy thereafter. So reading such documentation is 'essential reading', especially as we don't get frequent RNS updates telling us every time someone takes a coffee-break. Unlike the approach of some other companies!

Of course when it comes to questions such as 'what will the SP be in six months' time?', your guess is probably as good as anyone else's...

Well spotted! And she's losing no time on the turnaround.

As mentioned in an earlier post, this is no surprise to me. Because what we saw on the NV's deck (photos referenced here recently) is essentially just the manifold's 'chassis' and protective structure. The actual manifold pipework which will live inside it isn't in place yet. As I noted from other slightly closer photos I saw a couple of weeks ago (NOT referenced here!).

Fitting that stuff (and the flowlines, and the 'jumpers' from the wellheads, etc.) will be the more 'delicate' and time-consuming operation.

So just a quick dropuff of the 'dumb iron' (a few dozen yards from the wells it looks like, from a quick zoom onto 'past track', and probably without any special positioning), then back to town for more bits and pieces

Nice to see things moving ahead, though.

That reads slightly innaccurately. Because in the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) submitted by Corallian to the govt way back when, it was already envisioned that drilling Colter would be either before the summer season, of after. But DURING that period.

So in that regard, the 'rescheduling' in no way represents a 'change of plan'.

Feedback from various sources suggests that one or two details required fine-tuning anyway, so I personally feel that it's encouraging that nobody tried cutting any corners in an attempt to hit the earlier 'window'.

But of course we still have 'Jamaica News' to await well before Colter even spuds. I must admit to some slight disappointment that we haven't heard anything yet, in July, as prognosed. But yet again it doesn't worry me. We're in midsummer, people go on holidays, and something like analysis and interpretation of a major seismic survey is something which can't be rushed. Plus news (especially 'rush news') resulting from that work must be very carefully and truthfully prepared, so a few more days or weeks doing that isn't really a big deal.

I'd be personally surprised if we get an update. It's not Hurricane's style to give notice of things just commencing according to pre-advised timetable.

OK, we have a snippet of information giving the 11th for commencement of FPSO sea trials, but no idea about how long they'll take. So on that front I don't expect to see an RNS until such trials are successfully completed, Bluewater signs off on all DDW's work and the ship sets sail for Europe.

As for the manifold, it's just the first step in a process. Plonking that bit of iron in position on the seabed is just part one in a series of quite complicated operations due to take a few weeks, probably won't take long in itself, and we'll most likely see the NV shuttling to and from Nigg and elswhere to pick up bits and pieces for a while yet. Plus unless I've missed something (quite possible as I've had a very busy few days doing other stuff) the second construction boat Deep Explorer isn't even into the frame yet.

Once again, I suspect (personal opinion only, of course) we'll only get an RNS regarding Surf installation when it's done, very likely including rock-dumping and hookup to the buoy, rather than in a dribs and drabs fashion which becomes rather meaningless anyway. This is HUR after all, not SOU!

It's all just construction work, after all. If you're having a house built, is it really of much interest to learn that the toilet's been put in position? OK, being informed that the bog (and shower, washbasin, etc.) have been hooked up to the water supply and sewage system, and have been passed as fully functional is rather more interesting. But before then?

The quarterly ops update at the start of October should be all rather exciting, though.

Once again (and not for the first time) I find myself being completely misunderstood on this BB, and also being the victim of people putting two and two together and getting twenty-two, to quote the late Frank Zappa.

I have had the honour and pleasure of meeting the delightful Missdosh, and (somewhat to our mutual surprise, I think) we found that we had a lot of rather unlikely things in common, other than simply holding shares in HUR and both being died-in-the-wool poker fiends.

(Though I have to admit that finding myself in an MG 1100 that had been inadvertently parked on its roof during the early hours of the morning sometime back in the seventies is not a thing I've personally experienced.)

I would only get upset if I learned that you'd invited the fair lady for drinks and allowed her to pay for any of them. That would be quite unpardonable.

Unfortunately by saying that, you're just doing so!

Half a billion quid says that it won't happen, or at least not in the foreseeable short-term. And in my own personal (possibly flawed) opinion, people who say it's a possibility are either 'ramper-style' traders tying to push guillible punters towards such thinking, or such punters themselves hoping to buy a new Porshe next month on the back of a two hundred quid spread-bet.

Hurricane's Lancaster field will go into Early Production fairly soon, using the means that the 'market' has funded it for. There will be a few months of such 'early production' at the end of which the copany might start negotiatins with others in terms of buying into the assests discovered and though EPS proved up, for further Full-Field Development, which the company has gone to endless lengths to underline it has no intention of attempting all alone.

In the meantime, there is the possibility that the company may undertake further drilling on other leases to prove them up as 2C resources, thus increasing their value, and thereby that of the company as a whole, which logically should increase their mcap through further shareholder interest, preferentially through Institutional Investors rather than retail, which would suggest an interest into moving out of AIM and into a different, more 'upmarket' FTSE domain. Which is another goal about which current shareholders have already been appraised.

Personally Idon't see any difficulty in understanding such a process. Maybe because I have no desire for a new Porsche tomorrow, don't have a mortgage nor any other debts, and reckon that if Hurricane can help me see my 65th birthday while continuing to lead the wayward life I already I do (and have done for a lifetime), I'll be raising my glass to Dr Trice & Co!

And if you really want a good laugh, take a look at the UKOG BB! More than 500 posts today, and it's still ongoing. I've got utterly no interest in that company, but the BB is great. Plus pijoe and Ricfle have got involved, so keeps them away from more serious stuff here. They're busy in a 'crusade' again. But probably fast-trading like crazy, mopping up a few centimes here and there every time the SP changes by a percentage point.

You"ve brought up the sixty-four thousand dollar question. Maybe 'unfortunately', but facts are facts.

I only put some money in here recently, but am no stranger to AIM-listed O&G.

So far there has been no application for drilling permits regarding the Colter well lodged with the DECC / OGA according to their website, which is updated daily.

So far as I can see. Unless it's been done under some obscure name.

I hope that doesn't come as some sort of a 'downer', but just like everyone else I'd like to make some money out of this, and facts must be faced. As it happens, it was Colter which attracted my attention to RBD, but subsequent to further research I've realised it's not the jewel in the crown.

Please don't shoot the messenger. But facts are facts. We don't know if the Colter drill will happen, and if it doesn't I suspect (personal opinion only) it may have a negative impact on the SP.

But fingers crossed, and let's hope that the thing will be given the green light!

NO HE IS NOT.

'Wellwell' is totally unreasonably bringing up 'risks' about this share and the operations involved as if to suggest everyone invested her was stupid and so is the BoD and that Fractured Basement fields WoS are bound to fail.

Some other people disagree with that viewpoint, which seems 'coincidentally' to emerge whenever the SP appears to 'waver'.

Draw whatever conclusions you wish, call me paranoid if you want. But I've got some serious money invested in this venture, and when it comes to money, I personally start feeling serious.

Despite his post of 09:23 saying he was 'signing off' for the day, our 'friend' Wellwell has continued banging away at his keyboard, with sob-stories about his children, living far from London, how stuff about 'paid bashers' is untrue, and so on. Interspersed with so-called 'tech' stuff about how the downhole completions might be 'unreliable', and so on.

Of course, yes, I've been bashing away at my own keyboard as well.

But simply because I'm sick of Wellwell's sanctimonious sh i t e and treating other people here as though they were idiots.

When it boils down to it, if you can't live happily with the idea of 'risk', don't invest in AIM-listed O&G. Period.

But those who do embrace such things don't want to have to put up with the bagpipe-like drone of the Wellwells of this world.

I hope that when he says he's 'signing off' next time, he means it, and does so. He can 'tweet' as much as he likes with his pals of course. But that's his problem, not ours.
