You are spreading misinformation. Maybe it's deliberate, or (more likely) through technical ignorance. So I won't bother 'reporting' your post, though of course others here may choose to do so.

Very shortly after the 'turnaround' (far to quickly, to my mind) another regular contributor here, 'Wellwell', postulated that there may have to be a 'slip and cut' of the winch-wire, and started going into some tech detail of such an operation. I personally felt his comments were premature, and based on some unfounded assumptions. But nevertheless, he does live somewhere near Aberdeen, and maybe he'd heard some rumours.

But although I sometimes disagree with Wellwell, I do suspect he was probably to some extent on the right track. But again, a 'slip and cut' is absolutely no big deal. In fact, it may have been performed just as a precautionary measure.

I have no 'inside information'. But I'd be very surprised if all work required for the next run hasn't already been done, and eveything's ready to go, and just waiting on good weather conditions.

Writing about 'modifications to the pickup mechanism' implies some kind of design defect, and the existent 'mechanism' being somehow unfit for purpose. And personally, I have utterly no reason to believe that's the case, and it is pure scaremongering with no facts to back up such a rash assumption.

But at this rate, you never know. With current ongoing results, I wouldn't be surprised to see a VG-5 well proposed sometime during the year.

A nice idea, but surely they have to get on with Munroe Swell now? Also, if I recall correctly, the VG-3 wellsite and production infrastructure already required modification to incorporate VG-4. So personally I think (though it's guesswork only) that there might be quite a long lead physical time before a further West Brentwood well could be drilled, plus of course there'd have to be further permitting and paperwork involved, all of which takes time.

Hmm. A nicely blue day, coinciding with a professional and informative interview. (Already slightly outdated though, due to the new and positive RNS.) Here's hoping all this will spark new interest.

Nevertheless, and without wishing to p*** on the parade, a slight word of caution. The Ensco 72 tow seems to be held up due to weather. She's off the coast of Whitby. I'd suspect with a 'light pin' as it's a well-surveyed area, and she's not moving significantly.

So 'fingers crossed' that the weather eases and that the rig can make it to offshore Dorset in good time. A lot of hopes are riding on the Colter well.

I fear a misunderstanding. I was referencing Bill Graham, the (Jewish) concert promoter, not Billy Graham, the Christian Evangelist.

As usual, in its happy weekend way, this HUR BB has gone a bit O/T. About things like cheese, booze, the weather, and so on.

I don't think Dr Trice would neccessarily like to be compared with Jerry Garcia, but nevertheless he possesses a rather similar sort of charisma, and wouldn't be surprised if he"s nominated for a knighthood once Lancaster comes in.

Tax-man procrastination I can sympathise with. It's that time of year. But looking at the weather. Forget it.

That webcam says it all. And by the way, people thanked me for posting the link, but it was 'TheCashFerret' who posted it earlier, so the thanks should go to him.

I think just a quick click on that cam will show what's what, and one can forget the meteorological prognosis sites. What's hitting the shore is what's happening offshore, multiplied by five, over the ridge.

Some patience may be required.

But I probably couldn't have given an answer, anyway. I buy my cheese at the local market, and I don't think it has any date-stamps on it. Certainly the piece of St Nectaire I purchased yesterday hasn't: I've just checked.

I've just twice had to shove a big bit of foam-plastic on my shutter-stops to prevent 'em from flapping and banging in the wind. Absolutely no way I'm stepping outside today. Limoges airport in this weather? Take care on the drive back home, especially on the downhill bit before Brive-La-Gaillard. The wind can be nasty there.

I was driving the 50 miles back home at two this morning at hich speed, and in places the dual-carriageway (which I know like the back of my hand) seemed more like a river than a road. Tough going, even though my car's equipped for such conditions.

I advise everyone to take a peek at this webcam footage for a few minutes. It makes me shiver, just looking at it for thirty seconds! Memories of flying into Sumbrough in winter!

No way the boat's going out and attempt to latch the buoy in that sort of hooley. If it's like that on the coast, what's it like over the ridge?
