RE: Optimistic for Warwick Dtill29 Jun 2019 20:28
WWN,
I completely agree. Plus it mustn't be forgotten that there were already screw-ups on this well which 'delayed' things, and maybe HUR / Spirit want to keep to a timeline regarding rig usage.
So long as WD has found what was being looked for, and thus becomes classed as a 'discovery', that's the main thing. All of a sudden we can add whatever's there as 2C resources, and that counts for a lot more than a DST. II's might understand this if they have a specialist O&G dept, but some PI's might not.
What a fun day, here, with all sorts of techie discussion. And at one point this afternoon, out on the street (or rather, no, on a café terrace having a beer and reading the BB) another reason a flare may not have been seen. It's pretty tenuous, but out of mischief I'm going to air it here to see if anything bites.
What if Lincoln and Warwick aren't contiguous, that there's a 'barrier fault' somewhere? And what if Warwick in fact contains a 'heavy' oil, unlike that on Lancaster? Summat hi-viscosity? That could explain the wells's reluctance to come in using simple underbalance means, and without resorting to CT and pumping N2.
OK, it's just a mischievous thought! But to my mind, not impossible. Heck, we've got 'compartmentalisation' between Lancaster and Whirlwind, and the company still won't commit to what exactly Whirlwind contains, other than volumes. We know it's 'gassy', but how much is oil, or possibly condensate, we don't know. So why not a heavy oil 'compartment' as well, just to even things out?
Hey! If you want to see the creepy-crawlies, you've got to kick at stones... Over to the rest of you.
