Packmentality, yes, those trades were interesting. From what I could see they were sells and were priced considerably lower than the prevailing price. They were off-book, which is not surprising, and were reported at the right time on the Stock Exchange web site. They didn't appear to be one shareholder shifting their holding between different entities.

As they were off-book, presumably that means there must have been a buyer. But who? 15m shares sold and the price didn't collapse.

Q, we do have a choice and that's to pursue the transition in a more gradual manner - one which is evolutionary and is less damaging to economies - and which wouldn't label the whole thing as an 'emergency'. This would also allow us to advance to a position where the technology is fully fledged, rather than the hotchpot way we're going about it at the moment. It's the old Betamax versus VHS argument.

For me, towards the end of his life Lovelock got this right - we should accept we can't reverse the trend and should be spending the money on protection against the effects.

Of course, nothing of a price sensitive nature is posted on the company's page, nevertheless it's interesting to read the comments as they provide a glimpse of public opinion.

One of the posters yesterday asked when would construction start and was told; 'as soon as we receive the relevant permits and have completed the environmental studies'. No mention of timing. He also said the news would be announced here i.e FB, first - he's obviously unfamiliar with Stock Exchange rules.

Virtually every post has one or two negative comments, which tend to focus on low wages and environmental issues, but these are usually dismissed by the majority. The overall feeling is one of positivity and optimism.

There's nothing starling about the posts, but I find the local reaction useful to read.

Pbow, I used one for the last 10 years of my career and I got challenged once. I was able to demonstrate half a dozen or so income streams which were accepted by HMRC. They didn't bother me again.

Pbow, that was my thinking. The only problem is, as I understand it, he only has one source of income and HMRC object to people who can't demonstrate multiple income streams. In other words, they would regard him as being a full-time employee of Solg and would insist he remains on PAYE. Wasn't this the issue that arose with certain BBC folk?

2. Low market cap. No.

3. Large EMS. No.

4. Wide spread. No.

5. Lack of funding. No.

6. No institutional shareholders. No.

7. Negligible net assets. No.

I could carry on, but there's no point.

Most sensible shareholders know what a penny share is e.g WSBN, OMI, KOD etc al, and it ain't Lloyd's Bank simply because it's share price is under a quid.

Total nonsense. By your measure Lloyd's Bank is a penny share.

Nal, at £500 million solg would rank somewhere in the top 350 companies listed on the ASX. It is not what we'd regard as a penny share.
