RE: Cost of cards7 Dec 2021 11:11
My wife is a bit of an expert on cards and on saving money. She sends cards to long lost uncles, aunts, nieces & nephews that live hundreds of miles away and no longer see. She just spent two days writing out Xmas cards. I took her advice when I put started to investigate buying into CARD.
She tells me that Card Factory has slightly more expensive cards on the top shelf plus others, recognisable by being wrapped in cellophane. Both she avoids in going for the cheaper ones which are ideal for the long lost just mentioned, the cards being equal in looks and quality, but far cheaper to ones she might buy in Clinton, a newsagent or a post office.
As I mentioned quite recently, our local CARD shops Blackpool (2) , Cleveleys and Poulton le Fylde are always busy, especially so at this time of year as we might expect.
CARD’s business plan does seem focused on shoppers looking for value for money and that seems to be working in these difficult times. Difficult times will continue when rea inflation takes hold in 2022 but people will still buy cards and look for VFM.
