There was a lot of big buy activity in MTL last week. It appeared that short term buyers were betting on a prolonged spike in price because of Ukraine. As the chances of a ceasefire increase the price has dropped to nearer $1900, however even when Ukraine is clearer many risks remain, not least raging inflation here in the UK and abroad.
MTL results are due in less than a month in mid-April and they should be very good for LTHs.

Apologies for this. Could someone explain why today do two large trades show, one for plus 1,000,000 shares sold and the other for minus 1,000,000 shares bought, both trades at the exact same time?

I see that gold is sticking around the $1900 mark when it might have been expected to rise on world events of the ongoing Ukraine crisis.

I see that Hannam & Partners, MTL Brokers, published on update on 14 Feb. But as private investor and shareholder, I am unable to access the information on the MTL web site.

This board has gone very quiet since the workmanlike but unexciting presentation. Some regulars seem to have gone quiet or sold out?

Putin is going nowhere in a hurry. Gold is over $1900.

If MTL can progress the M and A soon and “increase shareholder value” it might rekindle some activity before the next update.

A late buy of 1 million looks good for Tuesday. Best not to fret about last weeks deals . Putin is going nowhere for now and oil is and gas where we should be.

I saw the presentation as very upbeat. Highlights for me were:
• Q4 or maybe before should see debt reducing to 7%
• The next phase of drilling is at 50-100 yards depth meaning savings on time and cost
• At least four references to the board looking to M & A as a way of raising capital and expansion of the mine
• All systems go and on target

A great opportunity. If only I had spare cash.
