I reinvested 1/4 of my dividend. I am overweight in BT.

I opened a position in BP with the rest , topped up Rio tinto and WPP where Philip Jansen has just moved to.

If Bt drops to 130 I will buy a small top up. Otherwise happy with my holding.

Hi to answer the question yes I pay a fee but I intend to hold for a few years and I do not agree with buying all in one tranche or too much in one stock .

I don’t buy sell or move around stocks if I can avoid. I pick divi payers and play a slow patient game buying good companies when they are at low valuations.

My strategy is working nicely for me so far and I am

Compounding Divis when sp is low. I am relatively young and intend to create a large pot inside an isa for passive income and retire early!

The brands that Diageo sell did well in the pandemic as they were being drank at home which is cheaper than bars. People were drinking more too. When lock downs ended people spent more going out having missed the night life.

That’s worn off and pockets are currently empty.

Wait for the resurgence!

I’m not sure much can change for a company like Diageo. They sell premium every day products.

The world economy is in a cyclical down period for a few years (albeit we are in it for two years already)

People choose cheaper products in times like these .

I haven’t been buying as expensive wine, beer , and don’t drink spirits. But I know a lot of people were drinking Johnnie Walker in lock downs. The novelty had worn off and it’s expensive in bars.

Eventually the economy will turn and on average is on its way up long term , hence buffet buying in reliable companies and brands for the long term. Once things improve in the west and China, this will start performing again despite a mediocre management team.

If Ukraine and Russia possibly negotiate it will recover faster, although unlikely.

Grey George. Once each month Halifax have a commission offer. So the buy or sell fee is only a couple quid. Unless there is a reason to think the share will surge before, I try to time my buys and sells around that date each month, it’s usually a week before pay day end of month.

As there’s a chance rio could go lower , or higher, it is a window in which it incentivises me to pull the trigger
