If a vehicle is idle 3.5 days a week, for instance, sat infront of a house, then a system should be in place to use that vehicle if not for the other 3.5 days then a portion.

These types of system have been widely used in other industries such as factories for decades. Just in time , engineering systems.

The shares would be best held down for longer to keep the pressure on Kirkby to deliver the change required. Vans : a huge issue. In the past costs for idle vans were less . Vehicle costs are much higher today and yet a culture of idle vans and inefficiency are as high as ever.

Home working; the current strategy is to balance staff BT need versus those they can force out by travel distance. Offices are being consolidated and travel expedited for efficient employees versus weaponised for inefficient employees. Long term all desk employees should be consolidated to a small percentage of workforce and be wholly office based .

Mentoring; part office based is a good current strategy. It enables future efficient employees to be identified and nurtured and captured from the wider employment market place.

A strategy to convince competitors and wider industries to force office working should be employed.

A reversal of current norms back to pre-pandemic behaviours , work ethic and efficiency.

Actually Bt is a cr4p culture of low productivity . Fear, negativity , freemasonry and cronyism.

Unless you’re from the clique or minority target audience , you don’t get on . And those in charge aren’t there on merit but from the groups I mentioned. That’s why a large cull won’t upset or make worse , but possibly improve things. There’s nothing to lose but free cash flow to gain, and braking up toxic cultural norms present since Openreach inception and way before.

I am pretty sure I voted yes a few months ago via a CA in my Halifax app . Do I need to call Halifax to double check or will I be receiving another CA in due course? 370p is a bit bad considering the ftse market has risen strongly in the many months since the 370p was agreed as a premium.

This should really be a 390-400p minimum offer , or another dividend before it goes through.

That isn’t enough Erik . Yes a large quota of contractors will need to go , but there needs to be double the number gone you mention, and a large portion of those going are on 5 year contracts.

Openreach and wider BT need to get rid of thousands of c3 and b2 grade staff

My assumptions are you and those commenting are quibbling over pennies on the dollar .

Thousands need to leave the company , and need to leave within 2 years to hit the 55,000 target and net cash flow target.

But yeah you also need to mind your own business.

Never mind what one van in a street is doing or not doing its fractions of pennies on the dollar. Vans are paid for in bulk , if one van sits idle or is used 24/7 it’s mote to do with the fact the van is on the books as a cost and asset, if targets are being hit it makes no difference.
