RE: Strike 12 Aug 2022 23:55
I didn’t say that I agreed with an overtime ban or more strikes. I just said that is what they would have to do as a union as it’s their only bargaining chip.
Why don’t people try to see things from the other sides perspective? As shareholders the idea is to view things from all angles to get a picture of where things are going
As for working to rule in BT ;
Team members , particularly engineers are not performance driven to the same degree they were a few years ago. Performance reviews have been ditched. Bonus scheme is mostly not implemented and it is just automatically awarded. It’s purpose was to avoid pension contributions on part of the salary.
The bonus scheme may be used as a control method In time but isn’t currently.
Engineers do take pride but historically they Down tools when told.
There were not many on picket lines but I am reliably informed that most did not attend work and stayed at home.
Some build engineers will be released with terms in time but as is part of the currently agreed plan with the cwu the work force will be reduced in key areas via natural attrition as has been the case for managers and currently for some team members , predominantly desk based higher grades. There won’t be a need for a mass exodus, those have been rumoured for the last 15 years.
