I agree with your assessment daveri about both the BoD being confident and also the fact we are undervalued on Havieron.

As regards Havieron - I think that will take care of itself in good time.
As regards the confidence factor at Scallywag - I emailed Callum after his infamous "C & B" presentation with a couple of questions and fair play he replied a few days later. I was especially interested in the slide on his presentation that showed the early forward modelling of Havieron (slide 12 from memory) that wasn't on the presentation that we could access on the website. I basically asked him how the model was holding up now that we had 12 months of results from drilling at Havieron. This is his reply -

"Our geophysical models of Havieron from pre GGP drilling are holding up very well. This gives us a high degree of confidence with our modelling over the Scallywag targets and other targets such as Parley and the many others within the Paterson Range East licence."

Apparently Newcrest's interest was piqued immediately after the HAD001 result but I think it was HAD005 that got them on the phone to talk business. I think GGP initially did 9 holes at Havieron before Newcrest took over.

Scallywag should be more shallow so it's possible they could do more holes and possibly they could use RC instead of Diamond as they don't need to go so deep - RC is quicker and cheaper than Diamond.

Nothing to do with Newcrest - 100% owned by GGP. Newcrest have first refusal on the prospect and that's only until the end of the farm-in agreeement.

Oh and there is no more new activity at Scallywag other than reported earlier today.

Well the Sentinel update has finally been posted to the website - no real new holes that I can discern anyway but still lots of movement in and around the "new breccia" and NW zones. Looks to me like rigs taking up position on existing drill collars to perhaps do some 'wedge' holes like the ones that have been reported in the last two releases.

We should get a bit better definition on the sulphide zone and the breccia in the NW area in the next report in "5" weeks time.

@MattJames - I can't be certain but I assume the historical drilling results from Havieron would have given them a higher degree of confidence of hitting there - remember a lot of the scans and survey results which show Scallywag to be such a compelling target have been gleaned from information that they have received during the exploration and subsequent drilling at Havieron.

Guys - just checked the annual financial report and Clive Latcham received a salary of £21,319 for his role as a NED within GGP.

I'm sure his experience and knowledge have been worth a lot more than that to GH & CB over the past couple of years and I for one don't begrudge him the money that he has taken today - they are his options after all and he has only converted a fraction of what's available to him.

Morning all - we could get the Scallywag drilling started RNS at any stage now. GH confirmed in the interview last week that preparations had started on the ground ready for the drilling to commence. I've noticed 2 areas of disturbance on the ground over the past few weeks and here's is where they are located in relation to the previous surveys that GGP have released.

Can't wait to see what Newcrest missed out on here in the 90's when the drill rig they were using couldn't drill deep enough to penetrate the permian cover and hit the basement sequence.

No problem addicknt - better to have multiple sources than none at all. It seems that RIO have hit some very interesting gold rich satellite deposits to the East and West of Winu. There is some information on the gold intercepts in this article.

Really interesting for the prospects at Havieron - this could be highlighting the possibilities for a district scale system with multiple deposits occurring in close proximity to each other.

We know that Havieron seems to have smaller satellite deposits - maybe Havieron will be the gold equivalent to Scallywag as this new one is to Winu :-))))

I think Havieron covers all those points even at only 4.5Moz so I would be very comfortable with it being described as a Tier 1 asset - it will be interesting to hear how Sandeep refers to it in his presentation on August 14th.

Good morning MDC1, I was only joking when I said 15 - 20moz, Havieron may well eventually go on to see those sorts of numbers but that is a long way down the road. I think the Hannam & Numis numbers around the 4.5 - 5 million ounce number for the high grade zones only were pretty much accurate for the information that they had up to then.

I realise that we have had 2 sets of very good results since the last Hannam note so their figure should in theory increase.

The 15 year number seems to be about right for the high grade zone only again, they have said that a 2M tpa operation would be about the maximum they could achieve using the decline to extract the ore and this would equate to about 300koz of gold per annum which would in theory give 15 years on a 4.5Moz deposit.

All these figures and calcs need to be revisited again in the light of recent high grade results and will need a complete reworking to allow for the breccia and the possibility of bulk mining.

Surely they have accidentally put a decimal place in there - did they mean 15 - 20 million ounce :-)))

RIO have announced the maiden resource at WINU - looks impressive and they have discovered a satellite gold deposit there also..

@mcsquares - We often had great craic in Thurles but usually we'd head back to Borrisoleigh for a session after match weekend.

I was lucky enough to play a couple of times on the hallowed turf at Semple Stadium myself, once in the county schools hurling final at U13 and once when I played for North Tipp U16 in the Munster Final against West Cork. That was played on Munster Final day in 1984 before the Minor match so there weren't too many in attendance (they would have been too busy getting inebriated downtown) but it was a great experience and will always stick with me.

I spent many happy summers up on the farm in the Silvermines, my brother still lives up there

@CB - from what I have read there are similar tolling arrangements at a lot of other mines around the world. They have procedures in place to determine the quantity and grade of the ore before it is delivered to the plant and Telfer (NCM) would charge the JV (NCM & GGP) a fee to treat that ore. The profit would then be split between the JV partners and as NCM would be the majority partner I sure they would want the profits paid to the JV to be a generous as possible.

I'll take that as a compliment SeanO, but I can guarantee the nearest I've been to a mine is when I used to drive past the gates of the old abandoned works in Silvermines in North Tipperary as a young fella. It was close to the farm where my Gran & Grandad lived.

I've picked it up over the last 2.5 years of being invested in this great journey along with a lot of other posters on here. That interview from Peter O' Connor earlier today just capped off a great few weeks for me. As you all know I've been sitting on my hands for a while now and that will continue for the foreseeable future.

It's getting more & more de-risked with every nugget of information that gets dropped. I really can't wait for the Q&A session at the end of Sandeep's presentation on the 14th August - all these Aussie analysts are lapping up the potential of Havieron - did you lot hear him say today that it's got the potential to be a multi-DECADE orebody. I mean what more do people want to hear??
