Not sure if they can just yet WF, they still need to submit a mining proposal and get that approved, then it's diggers at the ready.

According to the website - it's 30 business days to approve a proposal - so we should have it by Monday at the latest :-)))

Well the target timeline to granting a Mining Proposal is 30 business days - having said that the target for a Mining Lease is 65 business days and it was granted in a much shorter period than that.

The total expenditure to now would have included the GGP spends in 2018 & 2019 and it's also in AUD$ not US$.

Newcrest are still in Stage3 of the farm-in although I would agree with the spend level they must be getting close to the end of that. Newcrest released an announcement to the market when they completed stage 2 and got their 40% so I would assume they will do the same when they complete stage 3 and get their next 20%.

Havieron is totally de-risked now - I like this bit,

"Alongside the progress at Havieron, we are continuing with our exploration plans at our other assets in the Paterson region and look forward to providing the market with further updates."

No guys I'm very, very, very happy.

I think they are setting the stall out for a big inferred resource number that may include all the breccia in a caving operation. Of course that's years away yet and they will mine the high grade first as they develop the cave but I think they want the world to know that Havieron is gonna be a multi-decade tier 1 mine IMO.

Havieron is definitely on the fast-track to development.

Native Title clearance has already been cleared due to the IULA agreement that Newcrest have in place with the Martu so looks like we are just waiting on the final decision from the government - keeping a close eye on the satellite for signs of any movement on the ground around the areas highlighted in the supporting statement.
