Well with WINU so far proving to be a massive (but low grade resource) then perhaps that could be their endgame. It would cost RIO a lot less to build a rail link to Telfer from WINU than build a brand new processing plant, accommodation, etc up there.

I'm sure there's lots of chess pieces on the board that we don't even know exist at the moment.

Do you think that RIO would be sniffing around GGP if NCM were to come in with a lowball offer or would they not step on NCM's toes? Maybe they are smarting after the NCM tie-up with Antipa - could work in our favour??

If they were to make an offer of say 10p but without the backing of the GGP board wouldn't that be considered a bit of a backhand move for a company that prides itself on having good relations with juniors?
I don't know if they would be bothered or not but all their media says they want to be the miner of choice for prospective partners - surely that would send out a bit of a contradictory message.

Stephen - that's a fair point but if we had known 12 months ago what we know now we would have financed it ourselves somehow. It's swings and roundabouts - if the system does prove up to be an enormous orebody then Newcrest have got 70% of it for a pittance.
The least that they can do is play fair for the final 30%.

Stephen, I'm not be confrontational - I'm just interested in your opinion. If course Newcrest would want it as cheap as possible but if they have an inkling of it's actual size and don't go about it properly then it could hurt their reputation with juniors going forward.

My average is only 1.3p so I'm winning anyway but I don't think the small guy should get trampled on by the major here IMHO
