I've just read the first line of the job description again -

"Seeking an Early Works Manager to guide the design, tendering, and construction of a box-cut and exploration decline and the associated surface infrastructure for the Havieron Project."

design, tendering and construction - surely that means they are only now looking at the design and positioning of the box-cut/decline? This suggests to me that they still haven't 100% got the location nailed down and they are just at the start of the process IMO.

It will be for both purposes schlemiel - they will be able to use the decline to complete the JORC drilling requirements from underground and also they will be able to check other & deeper areas without having to drill through the 400m of overburden every time.

Nice to hear from you - I can't fault your logic and agree that NCM did say that, still I can't get that 3D image from Callums screensaver out of my head.

There is still some drilling activity going on near the sand dune crossing (SE) - I wonder what that could be for??

We will find out some more when they release the mining concept studies but Sandeep has already spoken about starting with a high grade stoping operation (top down) and then maybe progressing onto a block cave scenario (bottom up) later.

The beauty of that system is they could literally start getting the high grade ore into Telfer as soon as the exploration decline is complete.

It's described as potential because it relies on the successful completion of the farm in. Here's the passage from the farm-in RNS

"Farm-in agreement includes Joint Venture and Tolling Principles which reflect the intention of both parties that, subject to a successful exploration program and positive Feasibility Study outcome, ore from the proposed Havieron Joint Venture will be toll processed at Newcrest's Telfer Gold Mine"

NCM are just reiterating the fact it's still just a potential JV IMO.

That's my understanding also mate and that's exactly what Hannam put in their broker note.

They could be using the exploration decline to remove ore from the stoping operation while continuing with the exploration and even developing the block cave infrastructure simultaneously.

The positioning of the box cut and the decline are going to be very interesting indeed.

I think the potential JV refers to the toll treatment JV. Once the farm in is complete then they agreement states they would progress onto a JV.

I stand to be corrected but I'm pretty sure that's our all-time highest closing price - could be an interesting couple of weeks coming up and there should be a satellite update tomorrow to keep us entertained.

DL is not involved at GGP in any capacity apart from being a shareholder like the rest of us but it's obviously in his interest to see us do as well as possible also as it is helps out with the nearology for Artemis next door.

20p seems a tad ambitious to me but it would be nice to hit the Numis target of 15p before the 23rd.

Looks like it might well be Tom - it's a shame we haven't got "Hairywun" anymore :-)

They let it go in the 90's as they had other productive shallower ore deposits at Telfer and the low gold price back then didn't make it economical to mine at the depths. I think the conditions of maintaining an exploration license means you have to expend a certain amount of cash exploring on it every year as well as the rental costs so they just surrendered it.

There's a link in this Tweet to a technical report from 2014 by Ming Gold (who later became Pacific Trends) on Havieron, Scallywag and other prospects in the area (some of which are in our PRE license now).

They highlighted the folded sequence around Scallywag as being highly prospective back then as you can see from some of the highlighted sections from the report.

I've seen a lot of people refer to it as such but I don't think it was a 'corebox' model on CB's screen - it was more likely to be a 'leapfrog' model.
From reading briefly on the leapfrog website it a very powerful tool which can use both drilling and surveys results to build a 3D model.

That's the rub Flashy - if they just did surveys then would that be of material interest, the only thing they are bound to report are assayed results as far as I'm aware.
The surveys would just be reports that they would then use to inform their drilling - we know GGP have results from MMI, geochemical surveys, 3D mapping, etc that they have never published because they can only be proven to be accurate when they drill and assay the cores.

If they had assayed those holes in the SW they would have had the results by the last update IMO and as we didn't get anything that's why I was thinking that perhaps they never drilled for assays in that area "YET".

If there is good copper and it's found to be across both tenements then RIO will definitely be interested but remember that NCM have first refusal so once they match anything that RIO puts on the table then we will be carrying on with NCM. The Telfer connection would probably make it impossible for RIO to outbid NCM IMO so I would imagine our partnership with them will be carrying on - but there's a lot of drilling to do before that becomes a reality.

Could be Bamps but there were about 12 holes all within a diameter of about 250m and they are only about 1km from the ore-body.
Seems a lot of holes in a very widespread area to be sterilisation and then there was that 3D image on Callum's screensaver - just saying.

Put a couple of images on Twitter this morning of the results from the Scallywag MMI survey in 2018 and then overlaid them with the latest GGP targets to see if there was any correlation. The strongest MMI results definitely seem to be around Kraken & London when you look at our targets but there are some good strong results right down on the boundary with RIO's ground where the anomaly seems to be across both tenements.

I know GH said they would be doing more AEM surveys as part of the work at Scallywag - I would assume they will be targeting this area to see if it shows up any more juicy targets.
