LONDON (Alliance News) - Stobart Group Ltd said Monday it has appointed Lewis Girdwood as chief financial officer & executive director with immediate effect.
Since 2017, Girwood has served as chief financial officer at IAG Cargo, which provides global cargo services to British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus and other IAG airlines. IAG Cargo is a unit of International Consolidated Airlines Group SA.
Aviation, energy and civil engineering company Stobart said interim finance boss Michael Williamson will step down from his position following a short handover.
Earlier in 2019 Stobart, via joint venture Connect Airways, bought budget airline Flybe Group PLC.
Connect, a joint venture among Stobart, Virgin Atlantic Ltd, and DLP Holdings SARL, paid pay just 1 pence per share, or GBP2.2 million, for Flybe. Flybe had already sold all of its assets and operations to Connect for GBP2.8 million in a separate transaction earlier in the year.
