LONDON (Alliance News) - Hostelworld Group PLC on Thursday said revenue for 2015 was up 17% from 2014, driven by strong sales in the second half, in line with its expectations.
The hostel-focused online booking platform said revenue for the second half of the year saw an increase of 21% from the same period in 2014, as booking numbers grew 2.0%. Bookings for the whole year were up 1.0% from 2014.
The company, which went public in November, pointed to its mobile business as an area of growth, with 40% of all 2015 bookings coming through mobiles and tablets, and said it expects further traffic coming through its newly-relaunched Hostelbookers platform in 2016.
"Following the re-branding of the Hostelworld and Hostelbookers websites, the integration of the group's technology platforms, the continuing advancement of our mobile offering and November 2015's successful initial public offering, we look forward to the current year and beyond with confidence," said Feargal Mooney, the chief executive of Hostelworld.
Shares for Hostelworld were down 0.5% to 206.25 pence on Thursday morning.
