TRADING UPDATES: Eden Research gets regulatory approval in New Zealand

Mon, 15th May 2023 17:13

(Alliance News) - The following is a round-up of updates by London-listed companies, issued on Monday and not separately reported by Alliance News:

----------

Eden Research PLC - Abingdon, Oxfordshire-based biopesticides and plastic-free formulation technology company - Announces that its flagship biofungicide has received regulatory authorisation in New Zealand for use on wine and table grapes, targeting outbreaks of Botrytis cinerea where it will be marketed as Novellus. Points out Botrytis is responsible for significant crop loss and food waste in New Zealand vineyards. Notes it is estimated that Botrytis bunch rot can have a financially destructive effect of up to NZD 5,000 per hectare.

----------

Life Science REIT PLC - life science property-focused real estate investment trust - Announces the letting of 4,877 square feet at building 2020 at Cambourne Business Park to Rakon Ltd, a global precision timing designer and manufacturer, headquartered in New Zealand. Points out the lease is at a rent of GBP25.0 per square feet for ten years with a break clause and rent review at the end of the fifth year. Explains this marks the company's first life science letting at Cambourne.

----------

Angus Energy PLC - independent onshore energy transition company focused on UK assets - As planned, the second compressor at Saltfleetby field was successfully commissioned in dual compressor mode on May 10 and the 3 producing wells in the field, B2, A4 and the new B7T well, have been flowing gas to the National Grid at the combined average daily rate of 9.5 million standard cubic feet per day. Notes this represents more than a 75% increase in production over that achieved in the first quarter of this year. Further, as expected, says the new B7T well is producing between 4-5 mmscfd through the temporary flowline with stable flow as it continues to clean-up. Chief Executive Richard Herbert comments: "The achievement of our goal of putting 3 wells in production through the Saltfleetby facility is very satisfying and represents an important milestone for the company as it positions for strong cash flow generation and growth in the future."

----------

Aterian PLC - Morocco-focused metal exploration and development company - Announces "encouraging" results from initial geological reconnaissance work completed on the company's Jafra project in Morocco. Chair Charles Bray comments: "These preliminary results from the initial reconnaissance at Jafra are very encouraging." Bray adds: "the high silver values supported by very high lead grades are an excellent starting point for further exploration of the project."

----------

Galileo Resources PLC - mining company focused on Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, South Africa and the US - Provides update on airborne gravity and advanced soil geochemistry surveys over licences held in the Kalahari copper belt in western Botswana. Explains data collection has now commenced with results expected in the third quarter. Chair and Chief Executive Colin Bird says: "Overall we are very well positioned within the Kalahari copper belt in relation to Sandfire's T3 and A4 deposit discoveries and other new positive developments in the belt".

----------

Malvern International PLC - London-based learning and skills development company - Signs five-year student recruitment partnership agreement with the University of Chichester which will see Malvern appointed as a global representative to support the University's international strategy. Malvern will also provide support services to the University in its international recruitment. Explains this represents a variation to Malvern's current partnership model, which is centred around student recruitment and on campus course delivery.

----------

First Tin PLC - tin development company with advanced, low capex projects in Germany and Australia - Announces all confirmatory drilling at its Taronga tin project in Australia is now complete and that the results from the programme confirm both the widths and grades of mineralisation previously reported by Newmont between 1979 and 1982. Explains it can now use the historical Newmont data, in combination with the findings from its extension and infill drilling, to deliver an updated resource estimate for inclusion in the definitive feasibility study. Notes in total, eleven of Newmont's diamond drillholes were twinned by First Tin diamond drillholes, two of Newmont's percussion drillholes were twinned by First Tin diamond drillholes and five of Newmont's percussion drillholes were twinned by First Tin RC drillholes. Two drillholes were abandoned due to difficult drilling conditions.

IN BRIEF: Galileo drill results show lithium enhancement at Kamativi

Galileo Resources PLC - Mining company focused on Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, South Africa - Says phase one drill results for its 80% owned Kamativi lithium-tin project in Zimbabwe show "extensive" lithium enhancement. Results peak at 1.0% of lithium oxide over four metres. Adds that geological mapping and prospecting have identified mineralisation/alteration in pegmatites over at least 1.5 kilometre strike length, which has only been partially drill tested to date. Chief Executive Officer Colin Bird says: "An unusual feature of this discovery is the spread of highly anomalous lithium through the mica schist host rock, as opposed to being solely contained within the pegmatite. We have no doubt that discordant pegmatites are the drivers to lithium content and our mapping programmes have located more discordant pegmatites than previously recognised. On the basis that the nearby Kamativi mine was a long-producing tin operation it comes as no surprise that we also see anomalous tin associated with these discordant pegmatites, in some cases coincident with lithium."

IN BRIEF: Galileo Resources Shinganda drilling progressing as expected

Galileo Resources PLC - Mining company focused on Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, South Africa and the US - Says phase two drilling programme at Shinganda copper-gold project in Zambia is progressing as planned with seven holes completed to date. Says most recent hole SHDD017 has intercepted an "extensive interval of alteration and brecciation with associated copper mineralisation within the Shinganda fault splay system." Confirms mineralisation and says sampling for follow-up laboratory assaying is in progress. Chief Executive Officer Colin Bird says: "Hole SHDD017 is a particularly impressive hole with an intercept length of more than 250 [metres] which was heavily brecciated and accompanied by copper mineralisation throughout its length, with values to be determined by assay. The nature of the host environment is not typical for traditional copper belt mineralisation, which leads us to believe that this could be a totally different style of mineralisation."

IN BRIEF: Galileo Resources pleased with Kamativi drilling programme

Galileo Resources PLC - mining company focused on Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, South Africa and the US - Says the phase 1 drilling programme at Kamativi for lithium and associated elements over a pegmatite-rich area of about 1 kilometre by 0.5 kilometres has been completed, for 1,428.4 metres in 10 holes. Notes mineralisation and alteration similar to that reported in the first hole, KSDD001 has been observed in several of the subsequent holes. Adds core logging and sampling is underway, preparing samples for export to the ALS laboratory in Johannesburg for lithium and associated element analysis. Undertakes infill soil sampling over a strong rare earth elements soil anomaly in the north-eastern sector of the licence and testing for copper in the southern part of the licence for VMS-type mineralisation.

IN BRIEF: Galileo Resources reports pegmatites at Kamativi licence

Galileo Resources PLC - mining company focused on Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, South Africa and the US - Updates on the Kamativi licence in Zimbabwe. Says, to date, six holes have been drilled at the licence for over 700 metres of diamond drilling. Notes the holes have intersected around 111 metres downhole width of pegmatites with an "appropriately low" potassium/rubidium ratio with the potential to host lithium mineralisation. Follow-up work is also planned in the north-east of the licence area to test in more detail the rare earth element content of pegmatites. Says drilling has intersected "significantly" more pegmatite than was originally anticipated, and adds this has brought some areas of the licence thought to be less prospective "back into the spotlight".
